Seconds turn to minutes. Minutes turn to hours. Hours turn into days. A minute on this boat feels like five, dragging out the day longer than it should be. It was cramped with all the girls on here, but now it is really cramped. We haven't been fed in two days, so everyone is tired of standing and has taken a seat on any part of the ship we can find a spot on. A handful of girls have taken spots on their friend's laps for sleeping and rotate. I am lucky enough to have found my friends when I got on the ship.

We continue talking to various girls with us to figure out where we are going but a lot of them are just as confused as we are. I have found out so far that the island we are going to is dedicated to these 'games' and there are only a small population of people that actually live there who help build new activities for the recruits. Rumors are that out of about a hundred girls, over half of them die the first game and slowly diminish as time goes on. The few left are to be chosen as brides for the five bachelors and the leftovers are sent back to their island to repopulate it. This explains why the islands advertise for more people to visit. This is how they tricked Ana into choosing this destination. They need more members of the community. But, the old woman did say that visitors were banned a year ago, so how is this possible?

An island with a lot of greenery appears in sight and I can feel the atmosphere on the boat shift to a nervous mess. Silence washes over us as we all take in the potential impending death of our friends and ourselves. Looking at all the faces of the girls, it makes me angry. How could this even be legal or allowed throughout the islands? There must be a lot that happened for this to be normal. These girls don't deserve to die and I have already come to the conclusion that I will not allow them to die in these games. For as long as I still live in these games, I will save every girl I can. I don't know what these games consist of, but I feel confident that I can quickly learn and adapt to whatever they throw at me.

A guard opens up a hatch and a tiny bridge forms at the entrance of the boat. He commands the girls in the front to stand up and leave to follow the guards down below. Everyone follows his commands and stands to wait for their chance to get off. These girls are thankful that they can finally have more space to walk around but they fail to realize that leaving this boat means we are one step closer to death. My friends and I are stepping off the boat and on dry land, forced to the left side so that we aren't slowing down the people behind us walking.

The island is beautiful. Greenery calls for us to walk inside it's entrancing embrace, begging a person to find themselves trapped in its mysterious shell. The island is ethereal and it scares me. It's a lie and I know it already. Once we step in, there is no guarantee we will step out.

There are a few escapees that are trying to go inside the tree line or swim out into the ocean, both a dumb idea if you ask me, but get caught and tied up. I admire their braveness to try something so daunting, but escape at this point is meaningless and idiotic. To survive this, one must be calculative and think through the situation before attempting it, otherwise you are asking for an early death. No, I want to make killing me and these girls a hard task.

Once all the girls are off the boat, a guard in white and black clothing stands in the middle of us with his arms folded behind him. He wears a cocky grin as he greets us and glares at each girl that were unfortunate enough to be standing near him. I can't see any details of him from my view, but I can tell by his stance that he is a higher up official of the guards.

"Welcome to Island R. You have all been chosen for the games this year. Be proud, five of you are almost a hair away from becoming the wife of a very influential man." The guy slightly grimaces at the end of his sentence like he doesn't like talking like this, "Some of you have friends or family that had survived the last games and know the basics of what happens here."
