"Wake up, losers." Ian came to our cabin today to make sure all the girls were getting along well here. By this time, we would be all grouped up into two buildings instead of four like we are now, but he said a certain someone has been making sure that the girls weren't being weeded out like usual. I wonder who he could be talking about..

"Actually I think I'm quite the winner," I respond back to him, "Oh and this is for you." I hand him the tiny slip of paper that I have written on. I have been up for about an hour now and made a small breakfast for the others because I couldn't sleep.

"Wow how... Thoughtful." He says with a grimace, holding the paper like it can transfer a disease. It is most likely possible it could since it came from him originally. I lean back on the door where he came from and watch him unfold it and read it. He is frowning the whole way through and I am smiling. When he reaches the end he lets out a curt laugh and throws the paper on the ground. I watch as it gently glides down to one of the wooden boards below us. He bangs on the bathroom door in which some girls are crowding in and tells them to hurry up for today's challenge. "And don't bother applying makeup, it is a swimming challenge. Wait..." He seems to think about it for a bit, "Go ahead and apply lots of it. I love seeing the drippy mascara. It reminds me of your failure and impending doom." He seems to let his frown turn into a stoic face. I wonder if he can express any other emotion?

"You seem like you've had many girlfriends." I say sarcastically. He glares at me and motions for me to move out of the doorway. He didn't deny it. I watch as he leaves the house with a couple other guards and I go to shut the door, "Maybe you should get a life instead of destroying others'!" I yell out to him.

He turns around and starts walking backwards, cupping his hands around his mouth to project his voice so I can hear him. "Killing others is my life!" He yells, "And you're next!" He points to me and I roll my eyes.

"You wish!" I yell back. He removes his hands from his mouth and turns around. He is walking away with the other guards back to wherever the are going next, but instead of being a nice person about it, he lifts up his middle finger in the air for me to see. I 'tch' at him and shut the door.

Tanaka is right behind me, looking over my shoulder to see who I was yelling at. Behind her is Kyira. "What was that about?" Tanaka asks with her arms folded over her chest.

"Yeah! Who was that smokin' hot guy you were talking to?" Kyira says with half-lidded eyes. She is either tired or stupid. I wouldn't put either past her.

"He is the guard that helped kidnap us and keep us in these games. Nothing hot about that." I tell both of them. I walk to our bunks and get out my hair tie.

Kyira sits behind me and pokes my side, "It's hot when you develop Stockholm syndrome!" She coos at me and rubs he head on my back.

Tanaka sighs and puts her hand on her hip, "Kyira, what the fuck is wrong with you?" Kyira pouts and stands up to go to the bathroom, "LOVE!"

I shake my head and put my hair up tightly so it doesn't fall when I am swimming. I wonder if this is going to be a challenge to see if we are going to hold our breaths or something? Tanaka watches me as I take my device and tuck it under my pillow and she does the same. Before either of us can make conversation, some girl about my height with strawberry blonde hair comes up to me with a slight smile.

"Y/N, right? You had two votes from the new guy, so that means that you were with him last night. How does he look like?" She asks me. I shake my head and tell her that I have not seen him. She looks slightly shocked, "What? I have seen two of the guys already, alone, but when I walk to their rooms he is not outside waiting for a girl."

"What are you talking about?" Tanaka cuts in.

The girl pauses before explaining, "Each night the guys pick a girl to spend time with. When they wait for their girls to come, they all wait outside their doors as a sign of respect for us. I assumed he had you come to him already because you were the only one to pick from."
