Contest 2: In Hot Water - CLOSED

Is your character in trouble:

-with their parents?
-with the law?
-about to be eaten by a zombie?

Does your chapter make the reader anxious about what is going to happen to them? Then this contest is for you.

Please submit your best chapter where a character is in hot water.  

Books do not need to be completed.

All genres welcome.

This contest will be judged on how well you describe the complex emotions involved with a high stress situation. Chapters that create realistic tension and invest the reader in the outcome of the situation are what we are looking for.  

Your chapter must include a event/situation/moment where your character is in trouble but does not need to have a resolution within the same chapter.  

You do not need to have perfect grammar and spelling but chapters must be in English and should still be easily readable.

This contest will only judge the chapter you selected for submission.

Deadline:

You can enter from now until all 50 spots are taken, last time it only took a few hours so get in quick.

The winner will be announced in a week and then the next contest will be launched.

How to enter:

There are slightly more steps to entering this week so read carefully:

Step 1: Comment with the next consecutive number and your book title and the chapter you want to enter.

Example for the first five entries:

1: Title: On the Run, Chapter: Red and Blue lights
2: Title: Grounded, Chapter 6
3: Title: Silly blonde girl trapped in house with serial killer with forks for hands, Chapter: He forked me
4: Title: Me vs. Zombies, Chapter: Eaten by a Zombie
5: Title: How not to die a gruesome death, Chapter: Avoiding dark allies. 

This is the preferred format of entries. 

Wait until you get confirmation your submission has been entered. When I reply to your comment 'Entered' you will know you have been given a spot this week.

If you don't get a spot you don't need to complete the next two steps.

Step 2: You will have 48hrs to go and follow thebrumous and comment on Chapter 1 of When Winter Falls.

Step 3: When you have completed this step reply to your entry "Followed and Commented"
