Takeru's POV:
On the following day, Yumika and I called a meeting not only with the Student Council, but also with the representatives of various organizations of the Hoshizora Academy.
"Good morning to each and everyone of you and thank you for accepting our invitation to attend this meeting" Yumika opens the forum. "I called you all to talk about an important matter that will not only stakes all of us students...but also the entire Hoshizora Academy as well."
"In the past few months, we've learned that our students who enrolled in this institution has gradually decreasing...to the extent that the enrollment payments are not enough to cater all the operations of our school." I continued her speech with a report. "Along with this, inconveniences among students begins to sprout out like water shortages, defective lighting system, among others. That's why we ask all of you for your help..."
Yumika then proceeds with our agenda. "Our proposal to deal with our annual school festival. Last year, there's many patrons have visited our school. As a witness during my freshman year, I saw our potential to make Hoshizora Academy known again and to have enough funds to solve our own problems. If everyone who's in favor of this proposal, please raise your hand."
For a minute, the representatives talk to each other to decide on the matter. I can feel how Yumika is so uneasy about this idea...as her first time experience running a schoolwide organization like this, she's fearing that our plans will be derailed.
But then...
"AYE!!!"
In unison, the entire assembly agrees with our idea. I could see how Yumika's frown quickly turned into a smile to the heavens, especially when representatives begins suggesting so many colorful ideas that would make our school festival a success.
"I hope these ideas will work, guys. And I hope that our school festival will be a success." Yumika and I then bows in front of the assembly in fit of gratitude. "Thank you so much!!!"
The representatives ended our meeting with claps, cheers and jeers. Soon, our council will make this ideas a reality. The first step in saving our school is a success.
But the praises never ended there. Even my friends applauded us as we return home.
"Guys, you're so cool!" Hikari praises us with sparkling eyes. "I never thought of working together like that!"
"Well, that's how real men goes. He has a delicadesa towards his partner and has a conscience on making decisions." Daisuke replies before making a hi-five on me.
"I must admit...but you're on fire when you have my idol...oh, I mean Yumika, on your side." Wataru adds.
"Or maybe...the fate of this academy will depend on this couple! KYAAAA!!!!" Ami then flirts along with my friends, making me blush...but just in time to part ways for today.
"Well, we're going now. See you tomorrow."
As my friends go home, I was left with Yumika again. I feel so proud about what we've just did back in the council.
"You did a great work out there, Yumi-chan." I praised her for what she did back in that council meeting. "See? I told you they won't reject it."
"Ehehehe...you're right." Yumika smiled at me. "Though, I should be the one to praise you."
"Hu-huh? Wha-why me?"
"Of course, silly! If it wasn't for your idea, we can't be able to progress our plans for the school."
"Ehehehe...my bad. I forgot." I scratched my head in embarrassment, much to Yumika's laughter. "That idea actually came from my sister since my mom once become the student council president."
"I see. So you have some leadership blood in you." Yumika concluded. "If you were a student of Hoshizora Academy since first year, I think you will be my closest rival for president!"
"Hehehe! No way!" Yumika laughed with me afterwards. "Good thing that we're a team instead of rivals."
"True."
As we continue our walk home, I feel that I can't contain the emotion that I buried inside...ever since I saw Yumika crying last night.
"Yumika...can you hear me out for a second? I just want to tell you something."
"Oh, sure. Take your time." Yumika smiled at me sweetly as she listens to my revelation.
"Even I made the suggestion to solve our problems in Hoshizora Academy, I feel afraid during the council meeting." I revealed to her my dilemma. "I'm afraid not only that our proposals being rejected, but also I don't want to see you cry. I made the suggestion last night to cheer you up. I don't want to have an innocent lady like you sobbing in front of me. It makes me awful. But it is really a good thing that our proposals were approved."
Hearing this, Yumika blushed, and then smiled at me even sweetly...
"Gosh...that's really...really nice of you, Takeru. Thank you...for being concerned at me." She then confesses to me. "I never saw you so...kind to everyone...even to me. To be honest with you...with that attitude of yours, I'm starting to...umm...like you."
Wait, what?! Yu-Yumika likes me?! The smartest and most talented girl in Hoshizora Academy...and my trusty neighbor friend...has a crush on me?!?!
"Oh...ehehehe...Takeru-kuuun, why are you blushing?" Yumika then giggles and puns me. "What's wrong for me to getting crush on you? Hehehe!"
"Uuum...no-nothing! It's just...umm..."
"Hehehe! Alright, alright. Just hop on now and let's go home."
Yumika offers her hand to me so we could ride her bicycle back to our homes. My revelation somehow motivated her to ride the bicycle to come home quick. But yeah, I do like her...but I really didn't expect that she will like me as well. I mean she has everything that not all of us, including me, can have: the intelligence, the talents, and the beauty inside and out...
But one thing's for sure...there would be more things that will make our bonds even stronger...and it's coming...fast.
