Young Love

Craig had a death grip on his mother's hand.

"m-mom...I don't wanna go to school...what if the other kids don't like me..?" He asked meekly, looking up at her through his giant glasses frames.

She looked down at him with her kind smile and ruffled his curly-ish hair.

"Sweetie. You'll do fine. You're a really smart kid." she said with a soft giggle.

His eyes widened as he smiled brightly, showing off his missing tooth he happened to loose during a freak accident.

She only laughed as she started walking across the parking lot. And he followed.

Craig sat at the table with his tray of breakfast in front of him. It was a bowel of cereal, a carton of milk, an orange and a small cup of yogurt. And that made his day. He opened the yogurt first and then frowned. He had forgotten a spoon! So he got up and walked over to the spoon dispenser. He pressed the button and giggled when a spoon popped out to his view.

So he grabbed it.

He turned around to see a three taller boys standing over him with evil smiles.

"Look here. We've got a new kid."

"Yea- looks like a real nerd too."

"Should we put him in his place? Little bitch probably needs it."

His eyes widened as he gasped, placing both hands over his mouth.

The boys gave him a weird look.

"What? Got dirt on my face?"

"Y-You said a naughty word! My mom doesn't like those words!"

The leader only laughed and shoved the poor boy down, making Craig's glasses fall off. The second boy stomped on the glasses making Craig start to tear up. Now he couldn't see.

"Listen here, bitch. Your mom isn't here. No one is gonna protect you which means your OUR meat-"

"HEY!"

Craig turned his head towards the voice. He saw another boy, even taller than these three, walk over there. And what he could make out, the boy was very angry. Scary too.

"Idiot Adam. Retard Anthony. And little Loser Zeke." The boy said, towering over the three. The three shrunk down a little bit but stayed put.

Craig only cowered away. The taller male took hint of this but didn't say anything.

The leader, Adam only folded his arms and sneered.

"Wildkitty here to save his newest boyfriend? That's a surprise."

Craig started to silently cry. He wanted to go home.

"For the last time, my name is Tyler." The boy said, walking closer with a very scary look.

"Now scram before I go tell a teacher."

Adam didn't say anything but just silently kept his peace and walked away. The other two followed hastily. Tyler turned to the small boy and his scary look left his face. He kneeled down and picked up the destroyed glasses.

"Hey are you ok? Those boys are always causing trouble."

Craig sat up and rubbed tears and snot off his face. He looked at Tyler and smiled softly.

"Thank you.." He mumbled looking back down.

Tyler stood up and held out a hand. Craig looked at him with wide eyes.
