"Alexander." I growled and ran away. He was faster than I was, and he grabbed my arm and twisted. I howled in pain and looked him in the eye. "Alex, I made them go and look for others! I told them I'd take care of her! What were they supposed to think when they saw me with her? I couldn't help her!" I cried out as he backhanded me.

"But she's dead now, isn't she? So that calls for the strictest sanctions. I told you to protect her. To love her. I no longer can, or she'll kill me. She's dead, and so. Are. You." Alexander's beatific smile showed up. The one I saw on Carlie sometimes. "Anway, you are a douche, aren't you?" He grabbed a stake and plunged it through my heart.

I screamed, and fought against him. I grabbed the stake and pushed upward. He pushed harder than I could, so I scrambled up and ran from him. I took him by surprise, which was the only thing keeping me alive. Please let him leave me alone. Leave his past behind. As I left Carlie behind. She'd wanted that. She told me to leave her behind. I cried on a bench outside of town before Alexander came upon me.

"You loved her, didn't you? I'll let you suffer." He left me there for eternity, crying for my lost love. His lost love. I wondered about killing myself. Alexander wouldn't let me. He'd save me. I am doomed to live forever, hating myself.
