I Hereby Decree... [Fandom RANTS]

Alright, this is kind of a combined rant with Katie but I decided to write it.

Dear fandom authors who are probably around the ages of 8 to 10, or possibly 11 years old. Can you get original?

I'll admit it, I did the high school love triangle AU in my early days of the fandom but come on. I'm here, trying to come up with original ideas about how these characters may respond to a situation in our world and using their actual personalities and traits and throwing them into non Disney channel "original" movie style situations.

I'm sick of titles like this:

The Big Four Goes To High School
Pixneyworks Modern!!
Disneyworks High
Elfrost High School Love
Merricup (that was intentional) Prom
Eugunununzel DAtE NIGHT

(I don't actually despise those ships they're just the easiest to make fun of. Read it and weep.)

GEEK CHARMING ((ASSCUP AU))

These dumb high school, dating, college student AUs we have all seen broadcasted on Disney Channel a thousand times. The same situations are constantly shat out and overused. The newbie comes into school, whether it be Rapunzel, Merida or Elsa (nevermind Anna's existence even though she's practically the only one with a "new girl" character... Rapunzel, eh.) and is ALWAYS introduced to by Mavis...

( Have you noticed that? Mavis is always the welcoming committee. "Hi, welcome to whatever high school!"
You know why? Because she's not currently being shipped with anyone and no one really cares about Hotel Transylvania this is the Big Four/Five/Kajillion we're talking about here! No time for any character development or introduction to this pale goth that is somehow THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE, even though she's been an angsty, moody, rebellious teenager who hasn't had much interaction with the outside world since her mother's tragic death...
((So you know, she'd just be perfect to say hi how are ya to someone completely new to a completely new environment. Yeah!))
...we gotta keep moving! Plenty of character bashing ahead! )

...And is then either run into by their jock or geek love interest (depending on Hiccup's age of course) or finds out who the plastics are (who are usually led by Astrid or Elsa because apparently they are exact replicas of Regina George).

That's what always happens and it always bashes the Animation Crossover characters' characters or gives them no new development, if needed, whatsoever.

What I hate about these books, not the most but it's pretty high ranked, is the fact that they are the ones that get the most votes. These effortless, bland plots and character torture chambers are what get the most hype. Then all the actual original ideas are ignored and cast aside.

Now I'm not saying the idea of a high school AU is bad, just don't have it be an exact replica of Mean Girls, Geek Charming, Radio Rebel, A Cinderella Story or Alvin and The Chipmunks The Squeakquel.

How about a high school AU that focuses around difficulties high schoolers might actually be facing??
High school doesn't revolve around a date to the prom, people. As much as we wish it did, news flash, it doesn't.

Can we notice fanfictions with original plots and unexpected situations that use the characters' personalities and traits correctly?
If you need me to explain that, that's going to be my next rant.
