Ella's POV
"Attention all. The plane is landing in ten minutes. Please fasten your seatbelts and do not go to the bathroom or walk around. Remove all headphones and turn off all electronic devices. Thank you." The speaker blasted.
I removed my headphones and turn off the movie I was watching and it showed a map of where we are.
Korea.
This is it. Just a few more minutes and my life here will restart. Just Mum and I. I breathed in deeply and exhaled continuously as the plane landed.
This is it.
I picked up my handbag and my belongings along with Mum. We exit the plane and went to take our luggages. I spotted mine easily - it was originally black but I found it boring and covered it with random stickers.
"Oh my god! We're here! I'm so excited!" If you people think it was me, think again. It was my mum. And currently, she's squealing while taking her suitcase down.
"Mum, stop! People are staring!" I grabbed her arms, making her stop. She was twirling around with her hands in the air. And of course, people were staring.
Rude.
"Mum!" I yelled again as she yanked her arms from my grip and walked off quickly. My mum is the opposite of normal. Unless you call adults who twirls around in the airport like a little kid who has a sugar rush, than yes, my mum is absolutely normal.
Though she can be serious at times.
After speed walking with my suitcase for a while, I finally reached her. Gosh, she walks fast, like seriously.
"It's been a while, hasn't it? Since we've been here." My mum suddenly said, her tone lowered as she did. How could I forget? I smiled weakly. "Come on, let's eat before we go to our new home."
"Can we eat chicken?" I asked. Just on time, my stomach grumbled. "See, mum. My stomach is asking for chicken." I pointed to my belly.
She rolled her eyes. "Fine. Just because I'm hungry. The plane food sucks." I couldn't agree more. Though the plane was the best, the plane food was still horrible. Though I've been on planes where they serve food that tastes much worse than what I had eaten just now.
We make our way to the KFC outlet and bought our food. Luckily, Mum still remembers how to speak and read in Korean. Well, obviously. She's been living here for like practically more than half her life. Me? Well, I have always liked reading. I'll remember how to read Hangul in a few days.
After devouring the yummy, delicious and scrumptious chicken, we set off after Mum called a cab. Eventhough I just ate three pieces of chicken with a medium coleslaw by the side and half a plate of cheese fries with a medium sized Coke, I'm still hungry. Mum says my body is weird because I eat a lot, like seriously, and I don't gain weight.
Well, what can I say? I love chicken and chicken loves me. Besides, I have high metabolism - the only good thing that father gave me.
Would the new house be like our old one; a single house with a small garden behind. Or just a simple apartment? We aren't that rich, so I'm thinking simple and cozy. A nice soft bed would be good now.
"We're here." Mum's voice interrupted me from my thoughts. I thanked the driver and got out of the taxi, taking my belongings with me.
I stood in front of a tall building. We're going to live here? Well, it looks more than an average-looking apartment... "Hey mum, is our house already designed or must we design it ourselves?" I asked.
