Ella's POV
You have got to be kidding me.
"What?" I asked, shocked.
She sighed and scratched the back of her neck. "The reason why we came - it was the job."
I kept quiet. What?
I laughed dryly. "So you're saying that you only came here because of them? You wouldn't have allowed me to go to the university here if you weren't offered that job, would you?" She opened her mouth but shut it. "Mum?" My voice raised.
"Honey, it's not like that."
"Then what?" Silence. "Exactly."
I shook my head in disappointment. Entering my room, I grabbed my handbag and baseball jacket from a hook. "I'll be back." She didn't answer.
I went out and closed the door. We don't really fight but when we do, I'll go out and it would be okay afterwards. Is this even ever going to be okay?
As soon as I stepped out of the building, I shivered as the cool spring wind blew at my legs. Shit. I knew I should have changed my clothes. I was wearing a pair of faded pink jean shorts and a red GEEK crop tee. I slipped into my jacket and set off.
I aimlessly walked around, trying to find a place for me to sit and think. Bright city lights greeted me - the city of Gangnam. I need a quieter place. I turned a corner - "Ah shit!" I shrieked silently as I bumped into something. My phone slipped from my fingers.
"Hey, are you okay?" a voice spoke in Korean. I could understand though. Wait- a voice? I looked up.
"Oh, mian! I didn't see you." I said sheepishly. My phone! I bent down immediately but so did he, making our heads bang into each other. "Mian!" I apologized again. Gah, I'm such a klutz.
The street lights were dimmed but I could still see his face. Is he using sunglasses? Who uses sunglasses at night? "Why are you using sunglasses in the night?" I asked him blankly.
His eyes immedietely widen and grabbed something from the floor. "Uhm, thanks. Er, I got to go." He walks away quickly from me.
What? Weird much...
I shook my head. This world is confusing. I continued looking at his direction while my hands felt the floor for my Samsung phone. I got a feeling of something squarish; my phone.
I picked it up and slid it into my pocket. Well, that was interesting. Maybe I should go home already, it looks really dark now. Mum probably went out.
As I was walking back, I felt my phone buzzed. I took it out and pressed the home button. '형 어디가?' appeared on the screen.
What?
Since when was my fonts in Korean no wait, is that Chinese..? And was that my background? I clearly remembered that it's a love quote. What is this? I frowned as I slide my finger across the screen.
No password.
This is definitely not my phone. I have a password! I remember changing it just now- wait, no I didn't. Gah, mum interrupted me and I couldn't put my password in! Oh great. Some random stranger has my phone and can easily hack inside!
Oh. My. God.
My diary is in it; no, no, no, no, no. This is not happening. Omg. Who has my phone?!
That guy!
Gosh, he might have dropped his phone too. He really needs to know this thing that keeps stuffs and it's called a bag. But then again, I bumped into him. Damn, I feel guilty- focus, Ella!
