Guys I am so sorry I haven't been posting.... I will be finishing the story soon!!!

"Your mother was lonely, and so was I. In my despair, I convinced her that I was the Angel of Music." Mr. Y frowned. "I understand how ridiculous this sounds, Gustave. But if you had known the pain I was in..... I was terrified she would hate me for my appearance."

Gustave looked at the man, begging with his eyes to go on. His anger began to fade away.

"I taught your mother to sing, as you may have guessed. Already talented, and with the knowledge she obtained because of me, Christine's voice became perfection. I fell in love with what I had created."

Gustave's brow furrowed, "You fell in love with her voice, not her?"

Mr. Y thought a moment. "Yes. At first. When christine made her debut, I realized it was time we should meet. But the moment before I entered her room, a young, handsome man came first. She was so happy to see him. A vicomte, he was. He begged her to come to dinner, but she refused, telling him that her angel would punish her if she left. The vicomte finally relented and left, but I was confused. I realized christine feared me, and I did not wish for that. I entered through her mirror, and she followed me down into my home."

The young man's eyes were wide. "You kidnaped her?"

Mr. Y winced, "Ah...." but he didn't answer. "While she stayed down there with me, I realized that I truly loved her and not her voice. My love consumed me, more than my passion for music. I wanted to marry her."

"But she tore off my mask. And hated me."

"What?" Gustave cried. "Maman wouldn't hate anyone for their appearance."

"But she did," Mr. Y said sadly. "And christine fell in love with her vicomte. I did everything in my power to separate them, even forcing the managers of the opera to perform my Don Juan-"

"So you are an opera ghost!" Gustave gasped. "The rumors that my mother was seduced by a Phantom are true then."

Mr. Y shook his head. "I did not 'seduce' her." And in a low tone, "It was the other way around. But," he cleared his throat. "When they did, the night it premiered, I crashed the show, performing as the leading man instead of the tenor who was suppose to. The only one who knew was my darling Christine, and one thing led to another, and I was discovered. Her vicomte tried to shoot me, the feared Phantom, and I took Christine down into my home. It was there that I realized she did not love me and never would, so why torture her further? I let her go with the vicomte, who she later married."

It suddenly made since. "My father, you mean."

Mr. Y didn't answer.

"Was that the last time you saw my Maman?" Gustave asked quietly.

The masked man's gaze locked onto the young boy's. "No. I saw her about six months after I had freed her. By accident. We were in the same room and our eyes locked...." Mr. Y closed his eyes and seemed terribly worried to Gustave.

"Please... go on."

"She did not scream. But she left with her vicomte soon after. I didn't get a chance to tell her anything. To apologize." Mr. Y looked sad. "I saw her again the day before her wedding. She had forgiven me, I think. We spoke."

"What did you say?" Gustave truly wondered. What would you say to someone you were so obsessively in love with?

"Christine knew I still loved her. But she was engaged to her vicomte and was not free. I knew this, and so did she. We parted and I didn't see her for twelve years, not until I wrote her to come here to Coney."
