Before the call. . . Or before the voicemail. . .

Okay Aly, I tell myself rubbing my hands together to keep from freezing, you can do this. It is really simple. All you have to do is ask your parents to go back on land. That is it. That is all you have to do. And if that does not work, then you have to escape and from your home which is right here. Just breathe Aly. Breath.
I start to calm down a little as my breathing begins to fall into a steady rhythm. Breathe. Just breathe. I let my mind surrender to the beat.
Soon, I am calm and I am ready to ask my parents.
I have to make sure I keep the rhythm or a will start to panic. So I do. But it is harder than you might think when panic is pulling at you from every angle. So I tap my feet to the beat.
Tap.
Tap.
Tap.
It is at night so I would like to see the stars like I used to. Back on land. But this is not land. Therefore there is no stars. Just the soft pattering of rain hitting the water and the moonlight shining on the water making it glow.
My parents quarters are in another section of the base. There are four sections: adults, teens, kids, and toddlers. They want to protect the toddlers and kids the most so they are in the middle of living quarters area. Their rooms are squished together side by side. And the adults quarters are wrapping around the east side while the teens living space wraps around the west side. So the adult and teen quarters are the most separated from each other. I have to walk a long way. Thanks ship. Note the sarcasm. But I can not argue I guess. After all, this does accommodate my life now, so I have to thank it kind of. But I still need to have some complaints. It is life.
My hand grazes a green leafy plant sitting in the corner of the entrance to the adults center. It catches the moonlight and plays with it.
"It is a moonadi. A rare plant that was just now discovered. It lives in the ocean usually. And that is why we have it on this base." A sudden voice coming from behind me startles me. I turn around quickly.
He just stands still with his hazel eyes glimmering. Then I think, I want those hazel eyes! Because who does not want hazel eyes? And my eyes are pure brown. So boring.
He waves his hand in a hello or goodbye stance while standing awkwardly in front of me.
"Umm. . . Hi." I say to him running my hand through my course blonde hair, which I do when I am nervous.
"Hi. I am Jordan. Yeah, that is it." He says slowly and weirdly.
Okay, he was a strange thing. And he kind of looked like a smurf without the blueness. But overall he seemed okay I guess.
There was a long silence. He did not talk and I did not talk. And I had something to do. So I just swerved on my heel and walked past him to the adult living area.

Longest chapter yet! Sorry, I would have made it longer but I was too tired to and I had a writers block at this point. So I will start fresh next chapter with maybe a time skip. Bye!
