I've never met the real World

I've never met the real World

I've never met the real World

I've never met the real World

It's never slowed me down, I'm careening like a train off a cliff,

Try to sway me round like some rodeo clown, oh boy, won't I be miffed,

"Take a breather," that foul doubter hissed,

And while I shield myself so well, oh boy, how glad I am it missed,

I've never met the real World,

I've never suffered like a lover, or starved like an artist,

I'll never meet my maker, so I'll wonder what my part is,

Until I die, I'll never quite have eaten my fill,

And to die... well, I don't think I ever will.
