Let the Sky

1/27/16 (Song)

It is nearly clear, streaks softly white upon the sunny blue,

You're nearly there,

Now let it consume you,

There were clouds cast over your skull,

August to January- don't you now feel the pull?

I've seen apparitions, I've met snow, fog and hail,

When I look to the Spring, I will never grow pale... again,

I'll let this consume me, and I think you should, too,

I look up for inspiration, so now my eyes reflect new shades of blue,

CHORUS

That's all I can do,

Let the sky reflect in my eyes,

Let it consume you, too,

There's no surface to paint layers of lies,

On my blank canvas,

I think for now I'll leave blue to the skies,

A mist of cream, on a still, clear, clean blue satin,

In swatches and strips,

It can be there for you, too, with passion,

Let it consume you,

[Chorus]

Oil or gouache,

Watercolor on whitewash,

Forget solid colors from Home Depot,

We can go outside and paint the stucco,

Leave the blue up in the cupboard,

Let the sky consume you, like a lover,

[Chorus]
