He woke up with a rush of excitement. He'd never been like this before, maybe he was just excited to see a certain brown eyed guy. He didn't care if Clyde wasn't gay or not, all he wanted was to be friends with him. He seemed like a really nice guy though. Jace got ready for school and his mum drove him there.
His first lesson was History. Awesome. It was his favourite subject, all he wanted was to be so engrossed in it that he'd forget everything else. He got settled at the back where no one would bother and had a nice view of the teacher. As long as no one distracted him, the lesson was going to be absolutely perfect. Once everyone was seated in their respective places, the teacher proceeded on with the lessons and he was way too engrossed to notice the unruly black haired boy seated just in front of him. It was when he went pull out his notebook that he noticed him. He didn't know that Clyde was in the same History class as him. He wanted to reach his hand out and tap him on the back so he could look at him, just so he could see those eyes again and stare at them but he didn't. He was a good student and just as much as he didn't want anyone disturbing him during lessons, he didn't disturb the devastatingly handsome boy. But at least he knew that they shared one class together.
He was slightly disappointed when the lesson was over since he didn't get to watch the boy more so closely but even more disappointed when Clyde rushed out of class without even looking back. He seemed to be in a rush. Jace quietly exited his class to his next one. Math. This was the class where students could do as they pleased, since the teacher didn't give a shit about them. He'd regularly pass them papers, explain a few things and then left them alone. He didn't complain though, he loved it when everyone was busy with their friends and no one paid attention to him. That way he could also work on some equations the that teacher didn't bother to explain.
During the next break, he saw Clyde again but his eyes didn't beam like before. He was sad maybe confused or angry, Jace couldn't tell. As usual he was hanging with his friends but wasn't involved in whatever conversation that was going on. His seemed to be thinking of something and it probably wasn't something nice. Whenever his friends laughed, he'd smile sadly to convince them that he was listening but honestly no one was fooled. It was a pathetic fake smile and so when they noticed it, they all stared at him waiting for an explanation but he just left and sat on his own.
Clyde's POV
He didn't want to talk to anyone about anything and so when his friends stared at him probably waiting for an explanation, he just left and sat next to the school's sport hall. There he noticed a pair of green eyes staring at him and he wanted to smile and wave at him like he did the previous day but he couldn't. He stared back though and just looking at those pretty eyes made him feel some kind of relief. Maybe if he told some excruciatingly handsome guy with the most beautiful eyes about his problems, he'd feel better. They didn't know each other so he'd probably forget about it at some point. They still held their gaze and he didn't realise that the guy was walking towards him. His heart flattered. Yes he'd seen him a couple of times and he obviously couldn't get those eyes out of his mind and he'd wanted nothing more than to talk to him but he'd been pretty occupied lately. So when he saw him walking towards him, he couldn't help but smile. It was the first genuine smile he had had the whole day and he was kind of proud of himself. He was going to stand up and meet with the guy half-way there when the bell rang. His heart fell to his stomach. Damn it. He cursed when the guy turned and left. He swore he'd find out his name soon and with that he left for his next class.Jace's POV
The next two days were sad and the only explanation to it was because every time he saw Clyde, he was frowning and never waved at him. He seemed lost and scared, like a lost puppy looking for it's owner but had none. No one was around him most of the time probably because he was avoiding everyone. If only I could talk. He'd pull him into a hug and comfort him if that would bring that smile back.
