Jace laughed and laughed. He just couldn't stop and just seeing him like that made Clyde smile. Of course he knew he had made a mistake then. Jace had been teaching him sign language and he was explaining how his mum thought he was a vegetarian through sign language when Jace started laughing. At first he looked shocked but then it turned into a smile and now here he was loosing it.
"What? Did I say something wrong? "He smiled. Jace looked at him one more time and took the almost filled up with words paper and explained.
You said and I quote, "and my mum kept feeding me rabbit food still thinking I was a virgin but I wasn't"...its supposed to be vegetarian not virgin.
When Clyde read it, his cheeks flushed red. How did he confuse those two words. Stupid sign language. He laughed though, it was pretty funny because he had been rambling on for quite a while and he had managed until he messed up that one stupid word.
He had been having a lot of fun learning from Jace. He also found out a lot about him like one, that guy was Heavensent. I mean putting aside his God_given looks, his personality surpassed even his looks. He was just perfect, at least that's what Clyde thought though he'd never admit. They'd have to bury him alive.
He'd also been to Jace's place a few times where he met his little sister and a sweetheart of a mother. They were literally the sweetest. The way his little sister clung to Jace at first when she was afraid of saying hi to him, but then he grew on her. Next thing she was sitting on his lap singing her favourite song to him and boy was her voice breath-taking. He could listen to her the whole day but he'd rather stare at the big brother. Nothing compared to him. Jace sat on his bed watching his sister sing to his only really friend. How they'd bonded so fast no one could explain. Clyde had become close to him during the tutoring lessons and he personally loved it. He always asked Jace a lot of questions most of which made Jace forget to breath at times.
"Jace, where have you been my whole life?"
He'd ask out of nowhere and smile at Jace who would hold tight onto something to avoid him from taking him in a hug there and then. Clyde basically showered him with compliments every single day. He didn't know why he did it though, it's not like he was deserving of them. Maybe it was because the other guy felt bad for him being mute? He didn't know since he never asked but he didn't want the praises if it was because he was mute. He wanted Clyde to mean it and not feel sorry for him. He hated it when people felt sorry for him. It was his problem not theirs so he'd deal with it without them being all touchy feely around him.
"Clyde, do you always compliment me because you feel bad for me for being mute?"
He passed the note to the guy who was now sitted Indian style on his bed across from him and he noticed his smile fall. Maybe he'd pushed it too far? He should have just accepted the compliments and left it at that. Then he felt a warm hand on his which he should have been used to now since Clyde always did that. But he never got over how nice it felt when Clyde took his hand in his and it always brought a smile to his face.
"Jace, I never say this things to make up for the fact that you can't talk. I say them because I think you deserve them and I always mean it."
What did he do to deserve this boy? He was just too precious for this world and humanity just didn't deserve him. He looked into his brown eyes which seemed genuine and smiled. It was finally safe to say that Clyde was the best thing that had happened to him so far and he couldn't be more happier.
But Clyde being Clyde, he decided to make his best friend uncomfortable.
"I mean if I was asked, I'd go gay for you in a heartbeat. No questions asked." He smirked and Jace almost felt like hitting him. I mean was this guy even for real?
