June couldnt go back to sleep after she woke up. Maybe she would just have another cup of coffee in the morning.

Chloe seemed to have slept perfectly. Waking up at about seven.

"Morning." June yawned as she watched her friend sit up.
"Hey June, youre up early." She responded faintly as she stretched her arms out above her head.
"I didn't really sleep."
"What?! June, you need sleep!" Chloe exclaimed. She didnt want her friend to be tired all day.
"I did sleep, its just that I keep waking up in the middle of the night, at the same time every night." June sighed as she got up and pulled a change of clothes out of her dresser.
"What time?" Chloe asked as she pulled her bag towards her.
"Three twenty-seven." June said hesitantly as she set the t-shirt and pants on top of her dresser.
"Strange, maybe theres an alarm on your phone for 3:25, and it takes you two minutes after it rings to wake up." She pondered the dumb remark. Which she thought was a good conclusion.
"No, the only alarm I have is 6 a.m. and that's only during the school year." June said, even though she had the summers off, she remembered the alarm very well, since its the time she has set in her mind to wake up.

Chloe didnt respond, too deep in thought. She threw on a sweatshirt and shorts while waiting for June to get ready.
Once the two were done, they walked downstairs. Kyle once again had school at this time, so the two were able to get their coffee peacefully.

"So what'd you dream about?" June asked. The recent accident with Chloe blanking out made June wonder if maybe she can communicate within dreams.

"I didnt have a dream, I thought maybe I would see that kid again, but no. Just darkness." Chloe had a strange look in her eye, like she was scared about not having a dream.

June was silent. Chloe seemed legitimately scared, and she didn't want to know why.

"Okay, I lied." Chloe sighed, "I had a dream with that kid again, Steven was his name, right? Okay but anyways he kept yelling for help, like he was in distress." She had a blank expression as she said her last sentence.
"Why? Why would he ask you for help?" June seemed suspicious that Chloe was hiding stuff.
"Because we have gems, he knows we do." Chloe moved her hand to grab hers from under her sleeve.

"Do you think theyre trapped in Delmarva?"  June thought about what Connie had said, "Connie talked about them never coming back after the evacuation. Maybe they stayed." June had hoped that maybe one day they would meet the kid.

"Maybe, I wish we could see them. We could tell them about Connie, and how she's worried about them." Chloe shared her hope with June.
"But that was ten years ago. How old did Steven seem in your sleep?"
"He looked about nine or ten."
"So was he just born when the event happened?" June was confused. If ten years had passed since then, how could Connie know anything about Steven?
"Maybe he never aged." June couldnt stop thinking. A kid who cant age? How is that possible?

The two kept talking until they heard Abby and her friends walk out of their room. Abby and Mya went into the kitchen to make coffee, while Jodie sat on the couch next to June.

"Wassup queen?" Jodie always used those slang terms that made Chloe a bit mad with her bad grammar
"We were just talking about what Ms. Maheshweran said at the museum." June answered bluntly. It wasn't a lie, they were talking about what she had said.
"You mean about the mystery state?" Jodie wasnt the kind of person to really care for a museum, or a new discovery like Delmarva.
"Y-yeah, we were wondering if there was a mystery state where would it be?" June added, Chloe didnt like June revealing too much about their conversation.
"Hey, don't ask me. I pretty much failed history." Jodie remarked

Jodie was 17, so Mya and Abby were too. Mya and Abby were considered college students by doing post-secondary. June was 15, and Chloe was a year younger, both were in highschool, but it was summer at this point. So who cares?
