An alarm blared all throughout the halls of our spaceship, the Aurora, and I rushed through the escape pod bay. I could see other people, mostly females and children, rushing into lifepods.

"Please proceed to the nearest lifepod." A monotone voice hummed, and I glanced around. I raced for Lifepod Number Five, since it was my lucky number, and got in. I closed the hatch and slid down the ladder, noticing the other person in one of the seats. I got into the other right before there was a sudden jolt, when the Lifepod was deployed. Then, it kept jolting, when a plate off of the power panel flew at the other person, knocking him out, then racing for me. It knocked me out too.

"Hey, hey! Wake up!"

I could feel hands on my shoulders, shaking me. I opened my eyes, and I was met by a pair of chocolate brown eyes. He smiled.

"You're alright! Oh, I thought I was gonna go crazy," He steps away, placing his hand on his chest. He carded his hand through his dark brown hair. He looked back towards me, seeing that I was confused. "I'm Mark."

"(Y/N)." I answer, and stand up. My side stung, but it wasn't sharp. The Lifepod had little smoke, and the emergency light was a bright red. Wires sparked and the status screen stated, 'Emergency'. I noticed Mark was in a diving suit, and I rose an eyebrow.

"W-We landed in an o-ocean." He shuddered. He took a diving suit off of the hook on the wall, and handed it to me. He put on a diving mask and oxygen tanks, and smiled at me.

"I'll be outside."

He opens the above hatch, and climbs out, closing it behind him. The Lifepod jerked to the side when I guessed that Mark jumped off.

I changed quickly, and looked around for my mask. It was hanging on the hook my suit had been, so I grabbed it. I pulled it over my face, then grabbed the oxygen tanks on the floor.

I pressed a button on the chest of my suit, and a fresh breath of oxygen went througkh my mask. I placed my clothes and Mark's in the cabinet under the status screen, not before grabbing the nutrient blocks and disinfected water. I climbed up the ladder, and pushed the hatch upwards. I climbed out, and I took a shaky breath.

The Aurora, the spaceship we were taking to find the not-so-recently lost spaceship, the Degasi, was far away, a giant hole in the side of it. It was burning, and I felt my heart pound. Only the Captain and I knew of our second mission, our first was to build a phase gate.

We all thought it was a drill, until the ship shook.

I was shaking.

I could never get home.

Mark was screaming at the ocean, obviously trying to lighten the mood, but it wasn't helping our case. I climbed out of the Lifepod, then jumped into the bright blue alien waters. He was far from me, so I dove underwater, to see what I could scavenge. I glanced around, and saw a raw material about ten meters below me. I swam downwards, and snatched it, putting it in my inventory.

Titanium.

I guess the survival classes did pay off. I grabbed more of it, and also some quartz. I swam up, and breached the ocean waves, to refill my oxygen tanks.

"Oh, (Y/N)! I didn't know you were out already!" Mark smiles as he swims towards me.

"I got some titanium and some quartz." I answer, and I swim underneath the Lifepod, where I knew there was a separate hatch. Mark followed, and we both took off our masks once we got inside. I took a deep, shaky breath. I didn't know I was shaking.
