"What the Hell are you?" I mumbled as I scanned the floating, glowing blue spheres that were loosely tied to the sea floor with ivy. My PDA displayed the name 'Anchor pods' on the bottom of my sight in my helmet. "Huh, strange."

The waters were calm and cold as I explored the deep, trench-like area I dubbed the 'Deep Grand Reef', seeing that I accessed it off of the Grand Reef. The water here was a deep blue, slightly illuminated by the Anchor Pods. There were several caverns that led farther down into the planet, that I didn't really want to mess with until we, at least, have a Seamoth. The depth meter at where I was was at 290 meters, and I looked forwards, my Seaglide flashlight illuminated a plateau. A smile tugged at my lips, but the familiar voice of my AI chirps, "30 seconds". I looked straight up and pulled back the trigger, sending me flying through the warming waters towards the surface.

The feeling of flight through air was exhilarating as I launched myself, my Seaglide still in my iron grip. The air was cold, the sky was becoming lighter, and my stomach did flips as I felt the pain of landing flat on my back. I yelped in surprise as I flipped backwards in the water, I couldn't feel my damn heart. "Holy crap."

I glanced down to my oxygen meter, it was at a full tank as I breached the surface with my head. I nodded to myself, and I swam back down to the plateau, my Seaglide still tightly in my grasp. I placed it away as I grabbed the building tool I had made yesterday, and I grinned as I began to build a place for us to call home.

The trip through the Shallows was pleasant, diurnal fish who had a full night's rest swam past each other, ready for a new day. My Seaglide was low on power, and I was tired, but goddammit, I had to make a damn Moonpool for my non-existent Seamoth or I would lose my mind. I need to get to my Mobile Vehicle Bay to make a Seamoth and I need a power source for the base, we had scanned a bioreactor in the Aurora and I needed a wiring kit that I had in the Lifepod. I could see the bright blue rings as the sunshine leaked into the colorful shallows. My hand gripped the hatch on the bottom of the Lifepod and I pushed up, opening up the cramped pod. I climbed in, and I rushed to the fabricator, my eyes felt heavy but I had to withstand it.

I pulled up the fabricating menu on the fabricator, and selected the materials for a Seamoth, since that was one of my top priorities. The fabricator began to zip, hum, and sizzle as it began to fabricate the materials. I opened the storage container, and grabbed the few materials I needed to continue building our Deep Grand Reef Base. I looked to my right, that's when I jumped. Mark was staring up at me, eyes wide and eyebrows furrowed.

"Where have you been?"

I felt like a damn teenager getting caught sneaking back home after a party.

I rolled my shoulders to calm my racing heart, and I spoke harshly, "In the ocean."

"You've been gone for three hours, Y/N. You could've gotten hurt, out there, and I wouldn't have known where you were." He snapped, then shook his head as he rolled over, laying his head down back on the floor.

I scoffed. "Mark, I'm fine." The fabricator stopped humming, which indicated that its job had been finished. So, I grabbed the materials its fold out table, and I unlatched the Lifepod's lower hatch. "I do have a beacon on my suit, you know."

I slipped into the warm waters calmly. I then looked up and pulled the hatch down, locking it in place. I pulled myself to the surface, and swam towards my Mobile Vehicle Bay. I gazed to the left of me, where the Aurora had been laying, dead as a doornail. The Aurora has been burning for the past week we've crash landed. I climb onto my Mobile Vehicle Bay, and little drone-like bots fly out. I looked down to the stand that stood tall on the four little circulator floatation devices, and I pressed 'Seamoth'. The bots hummed as they floated away, and began to fabricate a Seamoth in front of my very eyes.
