It was about noon when Mark finally got in the water. I was scavenging since I left the Lifepod earlier this morning, after those chilling messages. I never really took the time to appreciate how beautiful this alien ocean really is. It's colorful, and is inhabited by weird and also colorful fish and whales. My inventory was full of titanium, quartz, table coral, acid mushrooms, and some fish for us to eat. I swam up, and I entered the Lifepod. Mark screamed out of surprise, and I giggled.

"(Y/N)! Where were you?!" He wheezed, clutching his chest.

"Collecting materials, why?" I ask, and take off my mask. I turn to the fabricator and looked up a crafting recipe on the fabricator's computer. I found it, then pressed it, placing all the materials on the fabricator. As it worked, I turned to Mark, smiling.

"I thought you got eaten by a fish, that's why! I went out earlier and you weren't near here! You gave me a heart attack!"

"Hardly. I left the area to a red reef of sorts. I gathered some silver and copper while I was there." I head to the compartment that held our clothes and dumped all of my materials.

"What'd you make?" Mark asks, looking at a repair tool. I scurried to the fabricator and took mine.

"Repair tools. So we can fix our Lifepod." I answer, and turn on the weld. I began to weld our little home, and wires molded back into place, a plate fabricating over the exposed wiring. The status panel had a green, 'STABLE', lit on it, and the red light turned off. The inside of the pod was now a bright white, instead of red. The air conditioner was now fixed, so it didn't smoke.

"...Wow." Mark whispered, breathless.

I blush. "It's nothing, really."

"You're super smart!" He smiles. "Don't be ashamed, it's just a part of being a human being. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to yell at the ocean-"

"Mark, just stay here." I say, rubbing my face. "We'll go out together-"

Suddenly, our suits hummed, which surprised both of us.

"Detecting increased local radiation levels. Trend is consistent with ongoing degradation of the Aurora's dark matter drive core, due to damage sustained during collision. Continuing to monitor."

"The fuck?" I say, breathing heavily. "How are we supposed to get back home?!"

"I don't think we can repair the Aurora, you saw the debris around here. Some of the ship could be miles away."

"Mark-"

"No, (Y/N), listen to me." He runs his hand through his hair, then walks towards me. "The Aurora isn't salvageable. We can't put a big fucking band-aid on it and call it a night! The drive core is ruptured, and it might explode. We need to survive, I know we're gonna be here for a while, (Y/N). I mean, didn't the Degasi crash here?"

"How did you know-"

"If there are survivors, they probably survived here. They survived for at least a month, i-if we can scavenge the Aurora when it's safe for us, w-we can get what we can."
