Mark had been passed out for the past few hours now. I mean, he's been passed out since last night, but this morphine must have been really strong.
I was outside, on my Mobile Vehicle Bay, which was a small platform with four orange metal floatation devices. Four little robots flew out of them too; they all had little propellers that held them in the air. I had already named two of them, Samwise and Marshall. I had been sitting here for the past half hour, reading blueprints for Seamoths, Cyclopes, and PRAWN suits. It would take a lot of work to get any one of these; including finding parts and scanning them. The Aurora was in the background, still burning. It hasn't done much, and the front of it was completely intact. Which was slightly surprising. The back, not so much. Suddenly, my suit began to speak again.
"Caution. Continued degradation of the Aurora's drive core may cause a quantum detonation. If the drive core is breached, probability of death by exposure to radioactive crash site materials increases to 37%."
I figured I should check on Mark, so I jumped back into the water, causing the robots to go back into their places in the metal floatation devices. I swam back to the Lifepod, which a meter away. I got back inside, to see a dozing Mark.
"(Y/N)...?" He says groggily.
"Hmm?" I answer, not looking to him as I head to the fabricator. I started to make some titanium out of some scrap of the underbelly.
"H-How long have I been knocked out?"
"Approximately one day." I answer, pulling my hair apart to braid it.
"What?!" He scrambles up. "My leg feels fine, too!"
I smile to him. I take the titanium, then begin to make a new suit by grabbing a few materials.
"You've been out a lot?"
"I haven't been here since last night." I answer. "I've been scavenging."
Mark runs a hand through his hair. "You could've gotten killed!"
"I didn't go into the sand dunes at night. That's why they're called sand sharks, Mark." I answer, taking the radiation suit and handing him it. I smile, he glares at me, a smug grin on his face.
"How would I know that when I was swimming for my life?"
I move around him and grab more titanium and more materials. "You could have told me where you were going I could have accompanied you."
"Stop using big words, and talk with dumb words like me!" He smiles, making me laugh. Not fake like I use when I was home, but a genuine, happy laugh.
I press the recipe in for another radiation suit, and I look to Mark. "Trust me, I'd sound weirder."
He laughs. "How would you know?"
