I can't remember when I fell asleep, when I'm angry everything is just a blur.
I woke up in a good mood before the realisation of the night prior hit me. I wanted to put off going downstairs to face my mother for as long as I could but my stomach was aching to be fed, it took me a few minutes to actually pluck up the courage to go down to the kitchen. I grabbed my night gown off the hook on my door and headed downstairs. '' Good morning sweetheart'' my mum says awfully cheerfully, stood by the stove. ''I made us all pancakes.'' I then see my younger brother sat at the table dismantling a sugary syrupy mess with his hands. I decided to sit down next to him. '' Thought you were annoyed at me?'' I questioned. '' You're my daughter, I'm not going to be annoyed at you forever!'' She replies, placing a pancake on a plate in front of me. ''Does that mean I'm not grounded?'' I asked. '' Oh no, love, you are still grounded.'' She says, giving me an angry smile. ''Okay, mom, I understand staying out late two nights in a row is bad, okay but can I just go out tonight then bam, you can ground me for the next 4 years... Well not 4 years, because you know college and everything but-'' ''no.'' My mother replies, cutting me off. ''Mama, pleaaaseee!'' I begged. '' How the hell are you going to be disciplined if I just keep letting you off all the time, Louisa?'' She asks. '' What do I tell David?!'' I shouted back, without realising what I just said. ''Who's David? I thought you had a boyfriend? I didn't know you were friends with a David in high school?''My mother questions. ''Oh yeah, I forgot to say, me and Freddie broke up.'' I replied, ignoring her other questions. '' I liked that boy, when was this?'' She says sounding sad. ''Is David your new boyfriend?'' ''Oh, it was the other night. And no, he's just a friend, but I promised to see him again to help him with his... um, fixing his bike'' i quickly regretting saying this as I knew my mom would know it's a lie. ''Hm... What's David's last name?'' My mom asks. ''...Jones'' I replied, remembering I read an article about David that mentioned his real name. ''Jones? That sounds familiar'' My mom says, trying to figure out where she knows the name from. ''Yeah, it should familiar, I've mentioned him a few times before, we worked together a few times in high school'' I say. I'm getting to deep into this lie, I thought to myself. ''Ok, fine. You can go out for 2 hours tonight. But I want you back on 8pm on the dot. no later. Not even a minute.'' She says, going into overly protective, stern mother-mode. '' Don't think you'll be much help fixing his bike though.'' ''Thank you, thank you!'' I shout happily running over to hug her. ''But...'' she quickly adds, and I stop moving in my tracks. ''Bring him over first, before you go, I'd like to meet him.'' Mom says before stacking the dishes. Well fuck, I thought to myself.Short chapter, sorry, but things are starting to get tense now!😜
