So that was how it went.
Janus didn’t break up with Reika, their relationship went on for about two years, until they eventually decided to break up because according to them, “it just wasn’t working anymore”. He was a little depressed for about two weeks (after all, Reika was his only girl that even lasted a year), but after five rounds of beer, he’s moved on and found himself another girlfriend. That and two more didn’t last long, but the most recent one, a nice girl named Lianne, seems to be going pretty good. Three years, what about that, huh?
I resumed my interrupted relationship with Vito after that day. I went out with him a few more times, even went steady for almost a year, had fun, but you know, it just wasn’t right I guess. I haven’t had a steady boyfriend for a long time now, but I’m looking (wink, wink). He’s probably hiding somewhere in the world, no worries, I’ll find him.
Janus never tried to kiss me again. I would have broken his jaw if he tried to, anyway. Besides, he’s happy now. Just last week I had an animated conversation with him, he’s planning on proposing to Lianne very soon. He wants it to be the best proposal ever and I’m helping him out with that because if he’s going to contemplate on it alone it would probably turn out to be the worst proposal ever. Lianne is making him so damn happy, so what can I say di ba? He’s wanted to settle down for years, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Lianne is the one.
“ I’m still gonna be marrying you when we reach 45,though.”
“What, your girl hasn’t even agreed to marrying you and you’re planning on divorce already?” I said with an exasperated tone.
He gave me a wink.
I rolled my eyes at him.
But really, who knows what the future holds, right? We have forever stretched out for us, I won’t be going anywhere and I know he won’t either.
Let’s sit back, cross our fingers, and see what happens.
Everything in its own time.
