Flashbacks (Sequel to From A broken home )

1st chapter

Hey guys so I'm really nervous for this but it's my first chapter writing this. If that makes sense. Here we go.

Your POV

" Melody are you okay?" Adam asked.

" Yeah yeah I'm fine. Don't worry. Can you start the car?" I asked.

" Uh let me try" he said trying to start the car. It made a sound then stopped.

" Okay. I'll call a person to come get you and I'll call someone, like a tow truck, to come get me" Adam said.

I nodded my head " Sounds good. Are you sure you don't want me to stay here, wait with you?"

" Yeah. I want you to get some rest Melody" he said.

" Um okay thanks Adam" I said.

" No problem. I'll call Max" he said.

" Okay" I said.

About ten minutes after Adam called Max he showed up. Adam got out of the car and walked over to us. I was standing on the side of the rode so Max could see us. Adam volunteered me to stand first. Said we would change every 10 minutes. Max rolled down his window " Hey guys" he said.

" Hey Mac I I I mean Max. Sorry I I just I I don't I'm I'm sorry" I said. I completely forgot I'm Adams sister not his. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

" It's okay. I heard what happened to you and I'm sorry. Must be hard" he said.

I nodded my head. I didn't want to talk.

" Well get in. Must be cold" he said.

I walked to the other side and opened the door. I heard Max say something to Adam but I didn't listen. To wrapped up in my own thoughts. This is Max, Ross was my boyfriend who I don't remember falling in love with, and Barney is someone I love. But he will get hurt and I can't let that happen. I don't even remember my childhood. It's all fake.

" Melody are you okay?" Max asked.

" Uh yeah. Just just tired" I said.

" You sure? You seem distracted." he said.

" I'm just thinking." I answered.

" Okay. I'm proud of you. I mean it must be hard to not remember and only getting a few things back at a time. And you've been so happy lately and I just don't know if I could do that" he said.

I sighed " Max I wish I could get things faster. All I remember is Gizzy is one of my best friends, that I can trust Alesa, a mean, abusive ex who makes me want to cry every time I remember him, Jin being fired, breaking up with Barney, and a few other things. That's all I remember of my real life, yet I have all these other memories of another life."

It was quite for a moment " I'm sorry. I know in your dream I was your brother but what happened?"

" Well our parents died and we were sent to an orphanage. That's where you gave me the name Melody. We were adopted by different people. And we lost contact. We met up at SkyMedia when Adam almost adopted me" I said. I left out the magic park because I didn't know if I still had it.

" How did Adam almost adopt you?" he asked.

" Oh well my mom was abusive, I guess a lot of real life things came in, anyway he saw her hit me and took me in. Then when we found out we were siblings you adopted me" I said.

" Sounds interesting. Did you like it there?" he asked.

" I think I died in the end" I said.

" Wait what?" he asked.

I laughed once I realized how odd that must sound " Yeah I fell and hit my head. From high up"

" Oh I'm sorry I guess" he said laughing.

" Don't don't worry. I'm fine now" I said.

" Well Melody I'm glad you're back" he said.

" Me too" I said.

The rest of the ride was silent. I kept thinking about that Melody sounded weird when ever someone said it. Now all I could think whenever someone said it was the orphanage. Everything of a life I thought I had. Melody. It doesn't sound right anymore. Once he dropped me off I ran inside after thanking Max.

" Alesa! Alesa" I called once I got in the house.

" Yes? Melody I'm in the kitchen. Where's Adam" she asked.

I walked into the kitchen and explained what happened with the car.

" Oh my god. Is he okay?" she asked worried.

" Yeah no he's fine. He stayed back to get the car towed" I said.

" Oh okay. Who gave you a ride here then?" she asked.

" Uh Max did. But I want to ask you a question" I said.

" Okay what is it" she asked.

" So you know how I use Melody because I don't like my name?" I said.

" Yeah so?" she asked.

" Well I don't want that name anymore. Melody reminds me too much of the life I lived in my dream. Melody was a different person. And it's not me. Well the me that lives here. What I mean is Melody was Max's sister, and I'm not Melody anymore I'm sorry if I'm not making sense" I said. I was even confusing myself.

" Okay take a breath and try again" she said.

I took a breath and tried again " I'm not Melody anymore. Melody was a different person, Max's sister. I'm not her anymore"

" Okay and what do you want to do to make you feel like you again?" she asked.

" I want to change my name" I said.

" To what?" she asked.

" Y/n" I answered.

" Y/n. That's a pretty name" she said.

" Thank you" I said smiling.

"Let's watch a movie. I put Mason to bed" she said getting up.

" Oaky so what movie do you want?" I asked.

" I don't know. You pick y/n" she said smiling at me.

I smiled. I already feel like a different person.
