Chapter 2 - Part 2

Beca

"Young men, women, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters, are you excited for this speci-" the door creeks and everyone turns to see the person whom made the sound. There stands three people, a young boy, a woman, and a man. The two adults were most likely the boys parents and the boy was probably 17, which meant he's here for the ceremony. The boy doesn't seem at all phased by his interrupting actions. He has a bright smile on his round face and his eyes are shining in admiration. He's quite cute if I'm to be honest. Finally the lady begins talking again. "As I was saying, are you guys excited for this special day?" Everyone clapped and yelled "Yes!" In respond. "Well, when it's time I'm going to pick names out of both of the bowls and when your name is called you will come stand next to your bowl and wait for your future significant other. Anyone who has chosen to purposely deny their new love one will have a serious punishment, so be nice!" The crowd shared nervous glances. Some people had their fingers crossed, probably hoping to get a person they find attractive. "Now for the actual pairing!"

Chandler

The lady walks over to the young woman bowl and picks out a name. "Amanda Williams!" Amanda walks to the bowl and stands their patiently. My stomach turns as the lady then reaches into the young man bowl. "Jackson Brown!" She continues this process as all the new couples get to know each other. "Skyler Nook...Markus Smith...Samantha Lynn...Tony Ross...Lilian Nikleson...Rick Erwin...Beca Mayer." A girl with light brown hair that stops at the top of her stomach walks to the bowl. I can't see her face until she turns around and looks into the crowd. She's wearing a maroon dress with black flats that tie up her leg. Her eyes are an icy blue, brighter than mine. And her cheeks are rosy red from what I think is nervousness but just might be her natural tint. She's average height and just beautiful all around(picture is Beca). What am I thinking! There's such a slight chance I get called next so I can't admire this stranger! After what feels like a lifetime the lady walks over to the young man bowl and draws a name.

Beca

The lady opens the paper and I feel my whole body shaking.

"Chandler Riggs."
