Side Chapter: All Seeing Eye

Narrative POV

It was late evening and everyone began heading back to their homes.

"Natsu? Aren't you coming too?" Happy looked at his pink-haired friend.

"I need to ask gramps something." He said, holding something circular in his hand, "I'll meet ya back at home. Or just wait at Lucy's for a bit."

"'Kay!!" The blue exceed said as he followed the blonde celestial spirit wizard.

"Hey, gramps?" Natsu looked at the guild master as he held a black orb to him, "What's this thing?"

"W-Where did you get this?" Makarov asked, nervously. Craaaap... He grew uneasy.

"I just found it buried under that tree in the back." The salamander looked confused as he watched the guild master grow uneasy and tense, "Why..?"

"J-Just hand it to me."

"Is it a secret ingredient to some kind of secret spell that makes you stronger?"

"N-No..."

"Is it something dangerous?"

"A danger to everyone's privacy..." Makarov crossed his arms sighed, "I'm suppose to give it to someone very soon..."

He looked at the curious dragon slayer and watched as he threw it up like a bouncing ball.

"What is it?" Natsu smiled, "What does it do?"

"It's something that shouldn't be misused.." He glared at the salamander, "The All-Seeing-Eye."

"All-Seeing-Eye? What's that suppose to be?" He said in disbelief, "A ball that can show you anyone at anytime?"

"Precisely.."

"How're you suppose to use it?"

"Just think about who it is you want to see."

"That's just-" The salamander paused for a moment. So, this ball will let me see anyone? He chuckled, "Okay." Then he walked away.

"WHERE ARE YOU-"

"I'm gonna use this thing." He called.

"WAIT!!! NATSU YOU BRAT!!! GET BACK OVER HERE!!!"

Unfortunately, Natsu was nowhere to be seen shortly after...

--- 5 minutes later... ---

"OKAY!!" Natsu sat behind a bush and smiled, "Let's see what everyone is doing..." He giggled.

"Show me..." He said, "Erza Scarlet."

Nothing happened to the orb. Confused, he poked the ball a few times.

"Of course, I forgot.." He scratched his back head, "I'm suppose to think about it.."

Determined, he sat up and took a deep breath then closed his eyes.

30 seconds, nothing happened.

He remained silent and thought deeply.

Another 30 seconds later and the orb lit up, revealing a room.

"Huh...?" He looked closer and saw someone open the door. It was the woman he feared, in pajamas. Pink pajamas...

"Goodnight everyone!" He heard her say.

"So it does work.." He watched as she went to her bed and turn off her lamp, "Well this is boring.."

The image of Erza immediately disappeared, making the salamander think, "Who should I watch..?"

Moments later, an idea sparked, "I wonder what Lucy and Happy are doing?"

He did as he did before, and not long after, the orb revealed Lucy, Happy and Plu playing around.

"They look like they're having fun.." He sighed, feeling slightly envious of the three.

The orb went pitch black then revealed an image of what appeared to be a desolate town.

"Huh..?" He peered closer at the orb, paying close attention. Then found a male walking along the center of the road, "Who's that..?"

Natsu's POV

I watched him walk and throw a few rocks. His right hand was covered in some sort of black mist and he seemed a bit carefree.

"Well then..." I was a bit confused at why the orb was showing me this complete stranger.

I hear him mumbling something then a laughter after that.

"Geez... If I went back, they might be frightened by my current condition.." He laughed out loud, "And to think I could do this alone."

I noticed that he had bandages on his left and right forearm. His sleeves looked like someone had ripped it off and had his (h/c) hair tied up in a pony tail. Out of nowhere, four bandits appeared, surrounding him.

"Give us what ya got!" The chubby one commanded.

"Or else!!" One of the slim ones said.

The mage seemed to have remained silent, then he smirked, "Or what?" He sighed, "Are you going to crush me?"

Offended, the chubby bandit held his sword to the mage's neck, "Watch your mouth, you prick!!" He yelled.

"I don't think it's me you should worry about..." He said calmly.

"Y-YOU..."

All four bandits charged in unison towards the male, causing dust and dirt to fly up in the air.

Silence.

After the dust and dirt cleared, all four people were lying on the floor with the mysterious mage standing in the center. He looked like he didn't even moved an inch.

"C'mon, I've fought better opponents than you. Even Natsu could beat you with his eyes closed. No..."

Shocked, I froze in place. He knows my name...

"He could beat you in his sleep." He walked away, leaving the four lye on the ground.

"That's pretty cool." I smiled, then in an instant, the orb broke in my hands, "HOLY SH-"

--- 5 minutes later... ---

"GOTTA GET RID OF THE EVIDENCE!!" I quickly lit up my hands and burned the pieces of the shattered ball until it became all liquidy and runny, then rinsed my hands in a nearby pond.

Normal POV

--- The next day...---

"Where is it?" The guild master looked at the nervous salamander.

"I um..." He hesitated.

"Well?"

"It broke..?"

"Did it now?" The guild master crossed his arms and smiled, "Goo job Natsu. I knew you would be able to destroy the wretched thing."

"Destroy?"

"Yeah, Didn't I tell you?"

"Y-You did." Natsu sighed in relief and wiped the sweat drops from his forehead.

"NATSU!!!" Lucy yelled, "WE'RE GOING ON A MISSION!!!"

"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT!!" He called back, "I'M COMIN'!!!" He ran to the others as they prepared to leave.

"See?" The guild master said, "I told you he was doing fine." He looked up to the ceiling, where a small black mist was seen floating weightlessly, revealing a large purple human like eye.

"That's good..." It echoed.

"Come and visit the guild once in a while at least." Makarov sighed, "You know they miss you, right?"

"Maybe in the future, but now, it simply cannot happen yet..." Then the mist disappeared.

"What are you so afraid of, (Y/n)?"
