As soon as they’re gone, Mike drops his hands… which are holding nothing more than his phone, me and rushes to my side.
“Are you alright, Colton?”
I nod dumbly, and we all rush back the way they came, where I see a mini-van waiting that they got from who knows where.
John takes the driver’s seat, and Mike points me to shot-gun, which I collapse into as my legs give out on me. We’re silent for a long moment.
And I start laughing. John looks at me like I’m crazy, but it isn’t long before he’s chuckling too, and soon the entire car is.
“We should all be dead,” I gasp out. “And it is so not funny.”
“Not at all,” Joel agrees. “And yet it is.”
But a single thought sobers me. “Alexis lives there,” I whisper.
Soon they’re all quiet too. “We should call the police,” Cole says finally.
But I shake my head. “No.”
John turns to me, a slightly confused look on his face. “Why not, Colton?”
I sigh. “Look, I cannot tell you how badly I want those guys in jail. But it was too dark for me to be able to describe them, and the cops will never be able to find them. But if I drag cops into this, they already know I care about Alexis, and it could get ugly for her.”
“I see your point,” Joel agrees after several second of silence. “I don’t like it, but you’re right.”
“So…” I hesitate. “How are you guys here anyway?”
“Oh…” Mike chuckles. “I just… had this horrible feeling that got worse the longer you were gone, and I couldn’t take it anymore, so I drug them into it and here we are.”
I nod slowly.
Thank You, Jesus.
“And how’d you know where I was?”
Luke holds up a phone I recognize as Annie’s. “Are you aware that your wife tracks you, Mate?” he asks, obviously amused.
I can’t help but laugh. “Yeah, I know. She likes to see it when I’m touring. Probably saved my life, tonight, though.”
And a thought hits me.
“Can we all agree on one thing?”
They wait for me to continue, so I do.
“Let’s not give full details to our wives.”
And we’re all laughing again. “That, my friend, is a very good idea,” Cole agrees, and they chorus their accent.
“Great.” I check the time on my phone and wince. “We better get back. We’re supposed to be moving out tonight, aren’t we?”
“Oh, we forgot to tell you, didn’t we?” John asks. “We actually don’t, because we found out Kansas City got moved. Something weird about the venue, and we couldn’t find a new one until Thursday night.”
I raise an eyebrow . “So, that’s our next show?”
He nods. “We figured we might chill here for the weekend at least and take our time driving over there.”
“That sounds like a fabulous idea.”
And it really does.
I grin. “I am so not sleeping in the bus. I’m getting Annie and I a hotel room.”
Joel laughs and holds up both hands. “Alright, Mate, no details.”
I glare at him, feeling my face redden. “That wasn’t awkward until you made it that way,” I mutter.
And all they can do is laugh at me.

A/N: And, I know this one was super short, but I didn’t really wanna do a time skip, and this part was over, so… yeah. Whatever, right? But the concert night is FINALLY over. I was not planning on it taking half this long. But it should start moving faster now. I hope. I don’t know why I even do these things, because you guys probably don’t even care, but whatever, lol.
