~ Weston's p.o.v ~
"Excited to see your girlfriends brother? I mean... ex girlfriend"
Brennen smirked at me as he patted my back. I don't respond. He's been harassing me about Quinn the whole week. I know I won't get her back. She hates me more than anything right now. I spammed her with texts for two days straight after she found out, hoping she'd respond. She hasn't even opened it yet. I'm still in love with her.
I really want to see her today. But I know if I try talking to her Ridgeway will go ballistic on both of us.
"Today's the day we've been waiting for. And we're gonna win all because of you"
He smiled cockily. I give him a dirty look."Oh right! How could I forget about Tuesday..."
He said cockily. I scoffed and shook my head."Yo Wes, you gonna pitch?"
Kaden asked.
"No"
"You sure? Are you gonna be good out in the field?"
"Yeah"
I mumbled as I scrolled through twitter."There he is"
Brennen nudged me, looking at Joey. I looked at him. He was on the other side of the field with his team."I see your buddy boy too"
He said referring to Mark. I smirked.
"Buddy boy"
I scoffed as I continued looking through my twitter.~ Quinn's p.o.v ~
I sit in the truck in front of my school. I watch as people from both my school and Marian walk towards the fields. Most were flipping each other off or giving each other dirty looks. I have to admit, I'm sorta scared to get out of the truck to face everyone.
I hear my phone ding. I grab it from the passenger seat.
"You coming?"
Joey texted me.
"Yeah. Just give me a few"I let out a sigh, resting my hands on my thighs, wiping my sweaty palms on them. I then adjusted my hat and grabbed my bat from the back seat. I let out a sigh while exiting the car.
I was feeling really nervous. I was probably sitting in the car for 10 minutes contemplating if I should go home.
I'm doing this because I want to do something good, so I somewhat gain my schools trust back. But the only way I'd be able to do that is if we win.
I start walking towards the back of the school.
"Quinn?"
I hear an unfamiliar voice say. I turn around. It was a girl that looked a few years younger than me. She had short blonde hair and hazel eyes. She had braces and she seemed nerdy."Could I take a picture with you?"
"Oh, yeah of course. How are you?"
"I'm good, you?"
"Good"
I smiled. She pulled up snapchat on her phone and we took multiple pictures together."Thank you so much"
She smiled.
"Of course"
"Are you here for the game?"
"Yeah. I'm actually playing"
"Really? I assume you're playing against Marian?"
"Yeah"
I laughed nervously."I go there. I'm a freshmen"
Great. I messed up twice.
"I just think that all this tension between us is stupid, ya know?"
"I agree-"
"Quinn!"
Joey shouted as cut me off. I looked back at him. He was at the corner."Look, I have to get to my team but I hope you have a good day"
I tell her as I started backing up slowly.
"You too"
She smiled.I walked over to Joey.
"What took you so long?"
He asked as we started walking.
"I ran into a supporter"
I rest my bat on the back of my neck."It's probably good then because our group ran into the Marian boys"
"Great"
I mumbled as I saw Mark looking at me. I stopped walking.I was able to tell he didn't want me here. He seemed uncomfortable and annoyed.
"Quinn? Didn't anyone tell you that softball practice isn't here today?"
"Oh my god I didn't notice! Thank you for telling me Colby"
I said sarcastically. He smiled cockily.I rolled my eyes, pursing my lips.
"Take it easy. She's helping us today"
Joey said to him.
"With bench duty?"
"No. We could use her. She's not as bad as you think she is out there"
"How do you know?"
Colby scoffed.
"I'm her brother. I've been to her games before"
"You really want her to play with us after what she did?"
"It doesn't matter anymore what she did. What matters is that we win""We're not gonna win with her. Besides, we have enough batters"
He looked at me.
"Then you could do bench duty"
I pressed the head of my bat on his chest."Joey? Are you serious?"
Colby looked at him.
"It's her choice on what she wants to do"
Joey shrugged at him. I smirked devilishly."Whatever"
He mumbled, walking away."C'mon lets practice while we can"
