~ Quinn's p.o.v ~
* present *
I cleaned off the dry blood on Marks face with a wet rag. He was starting to bruise up around his eye. He had an open cut above his eyebrow and it wouldn't stop bleeding. He flinches as I dab the rag around his eye.
"Sorry"
I quietly said.I moved closer to him as I put the rag over his open cut. A smirk creeps up on his lips as he looks at me. I look at him, realizing how close I was to him. I was nearly on his lap and our faces were inches away from each other. I felt my cheeks flush red. I move away and laugh awkwardly.
"You took a hell of a hit"
I scoffed as I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, trying to not make it awkward."So did you"
"I didn't know being backhanded could be so painful"
"How do you think I felt when Joey backhanded me when we were playing baseball in your backyard?"
I laughed at his response."Well that's a way to waste time, huh?"
"At least it didn't happen a few minutes before the game"
"You never know, something could still happen"
I shrugged. He snickered and looked away.
"Your still bleeding"
I grabbed the rag.
"I'll be fine"
"You might need stitches though. It could get infected when your out there"
"I'll be okay. I'll just go to the hospital after the game"
He shrugged and rolled his eyes.I put my finger tips under his chin and turn his face towards me.
"It's pretty deep"
"I'll be fine"
"Mmm..."
I hummed."I will. I don't even feel it"
He smirked.
"Here, hold this over it for a little while"
I gave him the rag. He sighed and gave me an annoyed look. He held it over the cut."Guys the game starts in 10. Do you think you'll be good Mark?"
Colby asks him. Mark nodded."Quinn...you sorta have..."
He points around his nose."Really? I didn't know!"
I said sarcastically."Better get that cleaned before-"
"I know"
I cut him off in annoyance. I watch him walk away."He's quite the guy"
"He's quite annoying"
I scoffed. He laughed slightly."You'll do good out there"
He said to me.
"I hope so because I'm nervous right now"
I laughed nervously as I held up my hand which was shaking. He interlocked his fingers with mine."Just imagine... I don't know. Nothing else is around you but you and the ball. Focus on nothing else but the ball. Everyone else is invisible except the ball"
"Weston's a pitcher...what if I mess up?"
I sighed."You won't mess up. If anything you're making him mess up"
