23. Too far gone

I had made my way back too my cell after digging.

I was sweating and hot, I had dirt all over but I ignored it, I didn't mind being dirty.

I needed to sleep. So I tried.

It was getting dark out by the time I woke up so I decided to get up and go outside. I walked outside and heard ricks gun going off.

I ran to the sound, him and Carl were running from walkers who where flowing into the courtyard.

I ran to the weapon cart and dragged it to them.

"Here!" I yelled over the walkers as I handed them guns.

I handed them ammo to fill their pockets.

I picked one up for myself and took the safety off.

"What happened?!" I asked

"Fence gave out" Rick explained while loading his gun.

"You shoot or you run" Rick told us as we got near the walkers trying to get in.

"Don't let them get to close" Rick said as he aimed down sights.

I aimed and got ready for them, I heard the chain linked fence break and walkers stumbled in.

We started shooting.

It was dark out but the dim lights of the prison gave us some light.

"Back up!" Rick yelled

"Reload!" I yelled as I reloaded, a walker got close to Rick, he used the butt of the gun to push him down.

Carl shot that walker, I threw Rick a mag, he caught it and gave me a nod.

I continued to fire as he reloaded.

We all fired and killed until the last walker dropped.

I aimed my gun down as I looked at the walkers.

There was a lot still alive but on the ground.

I took out my axe and went through killing the ones that were still alive.

I heard a car approaching the prison, it was Daryl and his group returning from the run for medicine.

"Dad" Carl called his dad "everything is going to be ok"

With that he ran to the car to open the gate.

"I took Carol away" Rick said

I nodded "you did the right thing"

The car pulled up and they all quickly got out

"Sasha!, how's Sasha" Ty asked about his sister

"I don't know, im sorry" Rick said as Ty ran in.

I helped carry the medicine to Hershel. He quickly got to work to medicate the sick.

"They almost died" Maggie said as she watched Glenn and Weston. They were both unconscious.
