26. Terminus

We were walking on abandoned train tracks, Glenn had told me that Maggie, Sasha and bob were heading to terminus.

Maggie wrote on the signs "Glenn go to terminus, Maggie"

So that where we were heading.

I met Abraham, the tall muscular guy who had an orange mustache.

Rosita, who was the girl with the hoop earrings.

Eugene, he was supposedly a scientist who had the cure.

And Tara who was on the governors side when the attack happened.

I didn't believe a damn thing Eugene said, there ain't no cure, he's bullshiting.

I was walking in front of everyone, I only had the assault rifle on my back no other weapons.

I heard someone come up from behind me.

Glenn handed me my axe.

"I found it when we were getting out of there" he said

I took it from him and put it in its sheath, I gave him a thankful nod.

"I'm sorry" he said

"For what?" I asked

"If i had thought of a plan faster you wouldn't ha-" I cut him off

"If I didn't get caught by them, I wouldn't have found you" I started "don't sweat it, I'm fine"

"Are you sure?" Glenn asked

"Yes I'm fucking sure, if we find anyone, no one needs to know about that" I spat

Glen nodded, his face changed when he saw a sign.

Terminus, Maggie had written on it.

Glenn took off running.

We had made it to a tunnel, it looked very tall with trees and brush around it.

On the side Maggie had written on it.

Glenn walked up to feel the blood on the wall

"Were gaining on them" Glenn exclaimed

"We can't go up and over, how bout around?" Abe asked

"No, it'll take a day maybe more, if Maggie went through, I'm going through" Glenn stated

"You hear that, that sounds like a longggg dark tunnel filled with reanimated corpses. I don't have full certainty that I can get Eugene out of there alive" Abe added

"This is where we part ways" I said and grabbed the bag off of Abe's shoulder. I took out two cans of food and a flashlight.

I handed him the bag back

"I'm coming with you guys" Tara said

"Sounds like a plan" I said

They all said they're goodbyes and hugged, I sat there fondling with a cigarette that Abe had.

I lit it and took a long breath in letting the smoke burn my lungs.

"Are y'all done making out?" I said while I blew out smoke

Tara laughed
