(Allison's POV)
I cupped my hands around Brian's eyes from behind. "Guess who?" I ask Brian playfully.
"Hmmm..." he ponders, tapping his index finger against his jaw. In a flash, he grabs my ankle and yanks me down on the towel with him. It happens so quick that I barely had time to let out a squeak. When he sees its me, he grins. Dozens of girls had fallen for that prize-winning smile of his.
"I didn't know you were coming out!" I said. I swung my bag off my shoulder. Next to Brian was a guy I recognized, but didn't really know. He wore a Detroit SnapBack over his black coifed hair. I smiled at him briefly, and he smiled thinly back. He chewed gum, smacking it into his right cheek.
"Sonny is making me come out for this one. Apparently this is a big tourney for Keeley. Tons of sponsorships," Brian replied to me. Sonny was Keeley's dad, kind of a second dad to me. Brian gestured to his left, at the boy in a SnapBack. "This is Chris, he's a senior."
"Hiya," Chris chirped, nodding at me. "You must be Allison."
It took me a little by surprise when he knew who I was. I don't have too much of a reputation or anything. I'm not a slut, but I'm not a prude either, so there isn't much reason to talk about me. I popped a salty french fry into my mouth, savoring the taste. "That's me. How do you know my name?" I questioned out of genuine surprise.
Chris opened his mouth to reply, but at that moment, Cameron came sprinting towards us, yelling and whooping. He was shirtless, and his chest glistened with sweat. His defined abs made me breathless for a second. We all turned to look at him charging towards us, laughing at him. When he approached our towels, my heart beat faster. I thought he was going to run us over! But at the last second, he swerved left and flew into a front flip. I started clapping and smiling.
"Not bad, Dallas," I told him. It was an impressive, tucked flip.
"Not bad? C'mon, like you could do better," he said back, running his hand through his shiny brown hair.
"Ooooooh..." Chris chuckled, "I think that was a challenge."
"Bring it on!" I stood up and slid my jean shorts off. I could feel the three boys watching me, and smiled sheepishly. I ran closer to the ocean, where the sand was more compact, for a better surface. They didn't know I had 5 years of gymnastics under my belt. Cameron and I made eye contact for a moment and he winked.
"Ready, guys?" I shouted back at them.
They all just raised their eyebrows. I shook my head and launched into my rountine. I swung backwards into a handspring, pulled myself into a walkover, spun into a cartwheel, and finshed with two perfect backflips. But I wasn't done. This time I launched foward. I twirled into a roundoff, two consecutive cartwheels, and a front handspring. I landed with a huge smile on my face.
When I turned back to face the boys, all of them were on their feet, clapping andn hooting. I could see the surprise in their gaping mouths. I took a lady-like curtsy.
We hung out for a little on the beach. It was a perfectly clear sunny day. Coronada wasn't too crowded, because the swells were too big for tourists. That's why the Supergirl Surfing Tournament was here this year. Soon, an airhorn blew signalling Keeley's Heat, #3. We all raced to the tent to watch with Sonny.
(Cameron's POV)
The Heat was about to begin, so Brian, Chris, and Keeley started to sprint towards the tent. I lagged a little behind the others, because some fans had caught sight of me.
"Cameron!" a girl called out. She had long, sleek dark brown hair. Her eyes were chocolate-y and she had full lips. "Hi, are you Cameron Dallas?"
She had a friend with her who was very short and curvy. Her friend stuttered, "D-did we... really find you?"
"Yes, you found me!" I laughed. "What are your names?"
"I'm Bree, and this is Lila," the brunette said and pointed to her friend. "Can we get a picture?"
After that was done, I decided to take my time to get to the tent, strolling easily, I had never even met Keeley, so the competition didn't matter to me that much. I was here to chill with friends, and meet girls, of course.
From a distance, I saw Allison laughing next to an older guy. I assumed he was Sonny, Keeley's dad. He was darkly, darkly tanned, with messy black hair and sunglasses. I gazed at Allison for a second. Her bikini clung to her perfectly. She had a flat, tan stomach; her golden hair stretched down her back. She was so goddamn attractive and I just wanted to--
EEEEEEEEEEE! A sharp, high whistle interrupted my thought. EEEEEEE! It repeated. A black flag was raised near the tent. All of a sudden, a panic rushed around the surf tent. Allison grabbed Sonny's arm tightly. I was confused and suddenly terrified... what was happening? Tournament officials were waving their arms and shouting. I heard high, chilling screams.
I squinted my eyes and scanned the waves for the surfers. Out of nowhere, I saw a patch of deep red staining the water. A quick, black shape darted a couple feet from the red.
I began to sprint, flying across the sand with heavy footsteps. My heart sank and my head pounded. Too much red.
