Awards Ceremony

I am not thinking that people say I am great that I really am great.
I am just doing a job, just like everybody else.
The only difference is that a lot more people see what I do.
I watched Chris pull up in-front of the house, after being late.
He got out of the car and walked up to the house.
"Did you really forget about my awards ceremony?" I asked.
"I know, I just got carried away with the boys, baby, all right?" He walked passed me. "Give me five minutes. Five minutes."
"You are so insensitive and selfish," I yelled. "Everything is about you and those damn friends of yours."
I shut the front door.

We were driving in complete silence until I broke it.
"Do you have any Idea, how important this night is for me?" I asked. "How hard I've worked for us or what an honor it is to be a successful business owner."
"Look, I know it's a big night for you, okay?" Chris spoke. "I got a little caught up on the court, I apologize."
"Why do you waste your time with those little boys?" I shouted.
"Rose, don't start. Please don't start." He looked at me. "You know how important it is for me to be coaching those kids."
"They're not gonna do nothing but end up in prison. Like their ghetto ass daddies."
"I saw your lips moving, but it was your mother's nagging-ass voice."
"You leave my mama out of this," I pointed my finger at him. "All I know is if you spent half of your time at home then you do with those boys. We wouldn't be having this argument."
"Look, I said I was sorry"
"Oh- whatever,"

Before I could say anything else.
A car crashed into the side of us, causing our car to flip.
I couldn't see anything but I knew I had to make sure Rose was alright.
The pain took over my body.
I reached over and tapped Rose, "Rose...Rose baby are you okay?"
She didn't say anything.
It was just complete silence...
