As soon as I close the door, I run to my room and throw the bag on the bed. I pace back and forth trying to calm down, to think about what I just did, while the guilt is already starting to do its work.

- MEGAN! - Cameron's voice startle me. - OPEN THE DOOR NOW!

I take a deep breath, and head for the entrance. As my hand touches the doorknob, he starts pounding on the door making me recoil. He is beyond angry and I feel a little afraid of how he might react.

Don't be stupid, it's your brother.

I swallow and open the door, though I don't manage to pull away before he pushes it open and slams it shut.

- WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT? - he demands, pointing to his reddened cheek.

- I'm sorry, Cam! I...I didn't mean to...- I stutter trying to explain myself and feeling flustered by the look on his face. - I wasn't thinking clearly!

- That's not an excuse! - he shouts and then, sighs. He's trying to calm down and he succeeds, just a little. - I didn't do anything to you to deserve that!

- Wait. Are you sure? - I squint at him, getting angry at his innocent attitude. - Is there really nothing you did to make me react like that, Cameron?

- Are you crazy or what? - he asks raising both eyebrows and crosses his arms, offended. - I'm always to blame for something, aren't I? Tell me, come on! And you'd better give me a good explanation, because you had no right to...

- I ran into Aaron today. - I let him go before he goes on talking and a nervous grimace appears on his face, before he goes back to his carefree attitude.

- What does that have to do with me? What you talk to him is your business.

- Yes, but it's no longer our business when the subject includes you! - I yell at him, tired of his lack of remorse. - How could you? I spoke to you honestly, I told you that he had cheated on me and you knew how much it hurt me to talk about it. You made fun of me all this time!

He seems to have run out of words because he opens and closes his mouth a couple of times. Then he runs a hand through his hair and bites his lip, looking into my eyes.

- Okay, you're right. Yes, I asked you what happened and I already knew the answer. Yes, I was there. - Even though Aaron had already explained it to me, hearing the truth from him hurts me even more. - But just so you know, I didn't agree with it, I even hit him after I found out what he had done! - he looks at me smiling, hoping his excuse can cushion the blow of knowing that he lied to my face and went on with his life through no fault of his own.

Not this time.

- I thought I knew you like the back of my hand by now, Cameron. - I stare at him and fold my arms to keep them from shaking as my anger continues to grow. - It continues to amaze me how selfish you can be and how many lies you can tell so that nothing will disturb your perfect superstar life.

- Perfect life? - He raises an eyebrow and crosses his arms as well. - You know very well how much it cost me to get to where I am and everything I had to sacrifice to get there. Stop being so envious, Megan.

- First, I don't envy you. Second, the only thing you've ever sacrificed in your life was Teddy.... - I frown as I remember the moment when I found my huge teddy bear (which had been a gift from Aaron for our anniversary) lying on the floor of his room, unstuffed and completely ruined after having worn it, literally worn it as if it were a onesie. -...
