As soon as I enter the apartment, I'm a little disappointed to see that Sam still hasn't returned from the university. I decide to take a shower to wash off the tensions that the workday has caused me... and one person in particular. I don't know how long I've been under the water until I hear my best friend knock on the door and yell excitedly.

- I'm home! I have so much to tell you, hurry up!

- Yes, I'll be out in a minute. - I say right away. I need one of her restorative hugs.

I turn off the shower, dry off and get dressed in ripped jeans, red Converse and my black t-shirt with a skull on it.

I get excited as soon as I see her sitting in the living room with her phone and fiddling with her hair. I remember the day we tried to dye it. The dye didn't want to cooperate, so it all ended in a mini meltdown and her hair... three different shades. Truth be told, it brought out her light eyes and reinforced her strong natural personality, but she wanted to go back to her previous color, one way or another; so I had to go back and buy the products to fix it and several hours later, everything was back to normal. She even did a ridiculous victory dance. I smile in gratitude for the best friend life gave me.

- Why are you smiling? - she asks watching me with a frown, trying to decipher my thoughts.

- Nothing, I was just remembering the day we tried to dye your hair. - I literally pounce on her and squeeze her tightly. - I missed you.

- Oh my life, me too! College is fucking torture. - She hugs me back the same way as she rests her head on my shoulder. - But never mind that, it's boring, what's wrong with you?

- You figure it all out, bitch. I met a guy today... it wasn't nice. Not at all. - I say, twisting my face.

- Really? why? - she asks me curiously and then notices my eyes water a little. - Should I make coffee?.

- Yes, it was 100% the "Hottie Law ". - I comment and she wrinkles her nose.

- Shit... so a lot of coffee.

Five minutes later, she nods as I get angry again recounting my encounter with Rye and his friends. She takes a couple of sips of her drink, then looks at me and holds up two fingers.

- Well, two things. The first is: I need a picture of this "Mikey" guy to see for myself if he's as sexy as you say he is. - I lower a finger as I roll my eyes, but laugh at the seriousness with which she tells me about someone's sexiness. - And the second is: yes, the Law applies perfectly to Rye  "The hotter the guy is, the more of an asshole he is." End of story

- Do you think I have a picture of each one that I suppose you might like? I'm sorry to inform you that I don't. - I tell her and she lets out a snort. - The truth is, it made me feel really bad because he totally embarrassed me. And despite that, I couldn't stop looking at him. I'm so pathetic... -I cover my face with my hands. - Sam, I've never met anyone as infuriating as this idiot.

- You're not pathetic, Meg. He's attractive, you were interested and he turned out to be a disappointment like all the others. That's not your fault. - Try to comfort me. - And I'm going to disagree with what you said. Don't forget your brother, he's most infuriating.

- I know, but after "You Know Who," I don't want to be involved with boys. And yes, it's true. He's infuriating, but that didn't matter to you when you were together, did it? -I ask her on purpose and watch her blush.

- Bitch. - she says, squinting her eyes and pointing her index finger at me. - Forgive me, but he was the one who wouldn't leave me alone, you know that. And I know you don't want to go through the same thing, but you never know. You don't know him and the fact that you're bringing this up to me means something is going on out there. This one has gotten under your skin.

- Ha ha ha... you're wrong. You said it, I don't know him. And I just like to see you angry when we talk about my brother. No offense now, you're the one who brought it up in.... - I'm interrupted by my phone starting to ring as a call comes in. I pick it up and see the name on the screen.

It's got to be a joke.

I show Sam who's calling and she rolls her eyes as if she doesn't care in the least, but I know it's just the opposite. - Do you see? It's your fault, you named him and he showed up!

I sigh and pick up, with an attentive Sam staring at me. - Hey, what's going on?

- Meg, does it have to be a problem to call you? - he replies a little annoyed. - I just want to know how my favorite sister is doing.

Even without seeing him, I know he's smiling like he does every time he lies and tries to hide it. It's not going to work on me, I know him too well. - Yeah, right... come on Cam.

- Well, all right! - he says in exasperation. - I'm going to L.A. for a job and I need a place to stay for a few days. I promise to be good. Or so I'm going to try.

I knew it. I roll my eyes and think about the last time he stayed with us and how that didn't end so well.

Sam had come to visit me before moving in, they felt that "connection" everyone talks about, but then I ended up with a heartbroken best friend, eating chocolate, and a very upset twin after kicking him out of the apartment.

Although I miss him a lot too, it was a very long 6 months. I glance at Sam, who pretends to look at her phone, but I know she's hanging on every word I say and she's not going to be happy about the following:

- Work, huh? All right. What's "a couple of days"? You better behave yourself, unless you want me to throw you out again. I'm serious.

- I can't believe it! I thought it was going to be more difficult... Is this a bad time? - he asks me curiously and when I don't answer, he gives up. - Okay, two weeks. Or three, tops.

- Three weeks? - I ask exasperated, although inside I'm jumping with happiness. I already want to hug him and listen to his incredible contagious laughter. - Well, when do you arrive?

- Ummm, yes... about that... - he says quietly and then, silence.

- Cameron? Are you there? - I look quizzically at my phone and see that he's cut the call. What the hell?

A minute later, there's a knock on the apartment door and we both look at each other like, "Tell me it's not true."

I get up and slowly open the door. There he is, with a big suitcase, smiling openly with his perfect white teeth contrasting with his tanned skin. His hair is a little longer, combed up and dyed a dark golden color. He wears blue jeans and a gray t-shirt that shows off his muscular arms. He's taller than I remember, but his familiar brown puppy dog eyes sparkle with joy at the sight of me and I can't help but smile. I hug him tightly and he does the same, lifting me up in the air a little.

- Surprise! - he exclaims making a funny voice and I laugh as I hug him again. - Oh, someone plays mean but it looks like she missed his little brother.

- Shut up, of course not! - I exclaim pulling away from him, punching him in the arm.

- Yes, as you say. I don't believe you. Come on, admit you missed me! - raises both eyebrows repeatedly.

- Okay, maybe. - I roll my eyes, but smile at him. Then I remember that Sam is inside and that I have to warn Cam not to make a sudden move, just like with the sharks. - Umm, Cam... I think first of all you need to know that I don't live alone anymore.

- What? - he asks with a frown. - Oh, I see. And who's the lucky guy, huh? Then I can't promise you that I'm going to behave myself, sis. You know, when the boys's testosterone kicks in...

He falls abruptly silent when Sam appears dramatically from the threshold of the living room, arms folded, speaking in a low, singsong voice:

- Lucky girl, actually. Sorry, but there's not going to be any testosterone because I don't see any men here. And Meg, you're not going to have to worry...I don't think your little brother is going to cause any kind of trouble, right, Dallas?

I look at Cameron, his surprised face is a poem. My best friend is obviously enjoying the whole situation and doesn't even bother to hide it.

Me? I can only think it's going to be a long three weeks.
