It took five years. Five years had passed since Aqua was kidnapped.
"...the only identification as to who the young girl is is a golden Z necklace hanging from her neck."
"MAX, THEY FOUND HER! OUR LITTLE GIRL IS ALIVE!" Ross screamed in happiness. Max came running into the living room and quickly glanced over at the T.V. to make sure before throwing Ross into a hug. He was crying. Ross hugged back as he stared at the T.V., trying to figure out where it was. "I know where they are, come on!" He exclaimed as he dragged Max out to the car.
They drove there as fast as they could, which luckily didn't take long. When they got there, people were swarmed around a terrified little girl who looked like Max and was clutching a golden Z to her chest. Max stumbled out of the car and pushed his way through the crowd, Ross following just behind him. "Aqua!" Ross's voice rang out. "Mama? Mama!" Aqua's small voice called after that of her "mother" 's.
It's odd. Normally, anyone under the age of four wouldn't recognize who their parents were, she shouldn't be able to remember them. But she did and she's glad she did.
Max burst through the crowd and immediately brought his little girl into a hug as he sobbed. "Princess, I'm so sorry we didn't find you sooner. They told us to give up on you! I'm so so sorry, my baby girl!" He sobbed as Aqua wrapped her arms around his neck and Ross threw himself at them, joining in on the hug.
The camera watched them. They were on the news, a complete mess and crying, and they had completely forgot. The news reporter stared at them in shock, probably recognizing the two from YouTube.
"Papa, I wan' go home." Aqua mumbled.
"We'll go home then, Princess Aqua, let's go." Max said as he smiled weakly.
"Yeah, I'm sure your aunts would love to take you shopping. And your uncles probably wanna show you a new game!" Ross said happily.
"Ahem," the reporter interrupted, "Are you two sure this is your daughter?"
"Why wouldn't we be sure?" Ross asked.
"Ross, let's go." Max whispered as they stood and walked through the crowd, the camera and the reporter staring at them the whole time.They got into the car, putting Aqua in the backseat before she peacefully fell asleep, and they were going to go home, but they decided against it and on instead going to work, despite it being Saturday. Once they silently pulled up to their workplace, Max carried Aqua inside as Ross sent out the exact same text to everyone;
HURRY UP AND GET TO THE OFFICES, NOW!
Even to Shelby, who Ross knew was currently at Jess's house.
Max woke up Aqua and she perked up. "Can you go hide? We wanna surprise the others." He told her. She beamed happily as she nodded and ran into an office with yellow sound foam on the walls to hide. Ross looked over at Max, expecting Aqua to be with him, and fainted when he saw she was gone.
The Sky Media crew pulled in to the office ten minutes later. They ran inside and found Max on the couches with an unconcious Ross leaning on him. "What happened?! Ross texted us and it sounded urgent!" Shelby screeched. Ross jolted up at the sound of her voice.
"We-We finally... Max, please don't tell me it was dream! P-Please tell me we actually found--!" He began to cry before Max shushed him and nodded with a smile.
"Oh thank god..." He hugged Max as tight as he could.
"What's going on?!" Adam asked.
"Come out to see your family, Princess!" Max called.A little girl snuck up behind Red, who was the closest to her hiding space, and jumped on his back, covering his eyes with her little hands. At first he screamed, then started laughing. "Max, get your child offa me!" He giggled.
Well, he caught on quickly.
She hopped off his back and skipped over to her parents on the couch and sat down on the edge in between them. The girls were all crying at the return and the guys were looking back and forth and all around trying to piece together what was happening.
"I has returned!" Aqua shouted, throwing her arms in the air.
Everyone grouped around her and they had a giant group hug.
"We need to celebrate Aqua's return after the years it took!"
