Part III- Blue kind Love
-
friendly
it was the kind of feeling
you feel when you're
infinite and powerful.
the feeling was mutual,
it was love and love
true to other party's words.
it did not benefit sexuality,
and awkward relationships.
it was the that kind of love.
it was different.

"Come on, Christa! It's gonna be a blast." The slurred and drunken voice of her best-guy friend spoke. She heard sound of licking and slurping- she gagged.
"I'd rather not, Xale." The disgusted Christa said, doing the opposite. Today was Valentines- the most exciting friendship day for Christa and Xale.
They weren't lovers. They weren't friends for benefits. They aren't an item either, they are known for being the most compatible besties in town.
There would actually be times people mistook them for couples, both would shake their heads and throw a distasteful look at each others faces. Xale had been a player, Christa was the vicious rebel. Though opposites attract, Alike are still compatible.
Everything between them started with Christa's crush for Xale Matt. He was hot, and she was cold. Sooner they got closer and Christa realized it was lust, nothing more. So afterwards, they went to events together, joined contests together and parties. Like present.
"Alot of guys are looking for your sexyness and wanting to have that goodyness, Chris. Quit being the party-pooper right now." He said through the line in between a huge and hot make out. She made sure to listen to rock music next time he calls, it was a Memo.
"Okay. Okay, Quit yappin' around. I'll be there by 9. Save me a guy for later." She said and hung up without recognition. She grabbed her yellow puffy dress and blue cute jacket, along with her blue flats. Without less than an hour, she was a hot mess.
She liked how she had many friends, but she hated how they always wanted thesame things in the end. Either her body, popularity, money even, and just because they have no other option left. But Xale never did that.
"Be back at 12, Valentines party." She rushed out and hurriedly asked permission. Her parents weren't strict, they were just right. They wanted their daughter to live the life they hadn't so they did.
Her mother tore her gaze from her John Green book, which she read a thousand times- and smiled. "Are you wearing the pendant I gave you?" Her mother asked. Christa nodded, suspicious but not too. Out of all questions- why that? She thought.
Her mom was the best gift she ever had, aside from her father. Their love story was ordindary and not as great, but Mother's story of her Valentines day was quite shocking. A boy she thought she liked huh? It hits her that love doesn't always work as it is.
"If you come home pregnant, I'll dis-own you and sell you to Flappy Bird INC." Her sarcastic Dad spoke up, interrupting her sad thoughts. Christa smiled at him, at his lame attempt of joke and grabbed her stuff and waved goodbye.
The red ruby pendant had been passed over for years, She was surprised it never gotten old. It wasn't broken nor rusty. It looked clean, new and shiny. It might have been a crazy observation but the jewel shines brightly on Valentines, Christa's curiosity flew high.
Few driving minutes to the venue later, She stepped out her black chevrolet, and then her feet landed on the most blasted house in the neighborhood. It was huge, and it was Xale's house. Who could mistake that?
As she entered, well- even if she hadn't entered yet, The porchsteps had people drinking beer, making out, you know- typical party scenario. But imagine on the inside, it was full packed jam blast. The air was humid and sweat everywhere. Dancing people and Rated R stuff- it was exciting.
Her eyes searched for a particular brown curly haired hunk, and then it fell on the right spot. Xale was kissing and hooking up with Cass, the school's 3rd slut, on the kitchen counter. And they weren't even ashamed. Christa rolled her eyes and strutted her way to the kitchen.
"Oh, Hey Christa." Xale greeted first and smiled. Cass smiled back at Christa and then whispered something in Xales ear that made him smirk, then left with a peck on the lips. Christa was purely and utterly in the verge of vomiting all she had eaten for the whole day. It was gross, literally.
"That was Cass." She pointed out, holding up her finger towards his face. He shrugged with a lazy drunk smile, "So what?" And Christa rolled her eyes.
"The Cass who hooked up with the lesbians? Yeah?" She said whilst picking her nails and Xale sitting there, coughing his drink out. He had bulged eyes and she just looked at him, biting her lip. She can't take the laughter any longer, she laughed.
"Damn you." He muttered and wiped his face which was practically spreaded with sputtered out beer. "Damn hot, You got that right." She replied. She liked this type of friendship when you could just joke all you want and not get hurt.
While He liked this friendship that doesn't require texting other girls with jealousy, without clinging and he could shamelessly flirt. They liked this relationship and they wouldn't dare go less or more. Both liked it this way.
The rest of the night was the epitome of infite. It felt like the whole world was drugged and the lights were definitely blinding. The house was probably cracked to how they all danced on the second floor, the first floor is probably turned fragile.
Christa and Xale had the time of their lives hooking up with random strangers that they found attractive and decent. Heck, They even had beer pong on the pool with skaters on it. They placed cheese on the walls, and there was kissy marks on roofs.
In short, the party wasn't feeling Valentine-y anymore. But the important thing was that they spent it with people they loved. They enjoyed too. Christa loved Xale, and Xale loved her in return. It was not the exact love everyone hoped for, because what Christa and Xale had was special.
It was that moment of silence for both bestfriends alone in the backyard, the swinging cold air nipping their skin. They were lost in their own thoughts, smiles on each's beautiful dandelion faces.
"What are we?" Xale asked, surprising Christa. Xale had never been the one to speak up when the silence seeps in. Although players were loud and obnoxious, he was different with Christa and that was the way she liked it.
"People." She snorted at her sarcastic response. Xale choked up a laugh and smiled at her cheekily. Probably, for other girls- they could die right in Christa's place, righ on Xale's smile but it was Christa. Not any other girl.
"I'm serious, Chris." He said after smiling.
"Xale Matt being serious is definitely a very big issue." She said, but turned serious after her small laugh. "Honestly, I don't know." Her head leaned on her shoulder, she closed her eyes.
The night was welcoming and she liked the refreshing cold air. Although music was blasting in the background, she heard the sound of relaxing crickets tuning their strings. It was the perfect scene for romance, and the perfect scene for Christa and Xale.
"Friends." They said in unison, clearly understanding each other with a small nod and small smiles. They met each other's eyes and laughed quietly as they had this friendly quiality relationship. The way they liked it, Both their ways.
Even though they were friends, and will always ever be- They loved each other to moon and back Jupiter. That's Christa and Xale.

* there were some SPG scenes there and i warn. Little kids aren't good enough to read this hook and they should be careful. I hoped you liked it, and guess you got the common thing they had. Leave a response!
