Part XII- How Love Works

-

inexplainable

a word that

somehow never existed

in the real life dictionary

but magically did in hers.

it was the word

used to define

the whole meaning

of how love works.

inexplicably beautiful

inexpectantly wonderful

inexplainably lovely

and inextraordinarily blissful.

how does one

know how love

really works?

by trying it.

A/N: Okay, So thanks for 140+ reads! This is my surprise for all of you munchkins :) Instead of writing a poem ( which I never wanted to write ), I decided to do something new and fetus to me.

Hope you like it and I love you all :">

If you go to Rosie's Diner and wait and wait for many hours, waiting for someone you know who's not coming, people will think that you really are waiting for someone.

That was what I was doing right now.

Maybe cross out the fact I know that someone is not coming, because I know they will. They're my therapist, who wouldn't come to their patient-in-help?

I sighed and looked at my bruise covered wrist, overlooking my orange watch which displayed the time. He's late, I thought.

I squirmed under the gazes of watchful dull people. Some using gadgets and working, the rest of the diner was actually chit-chatty. Nothing but lively, on this particular day.

"What would your order be?" An old waitress in her 50's inquired. I smiled politely at her, thinking of how thoughtful for someone to care for my order after several attempts of getting it the past 1 hour ago.

"I'll decide on the Peanut-butter and Banana Milkshake." I responded, watching her write my order in a piece of paper. I nodded my head and she left with a polite smile.

I wonder where he is now? There is a high possibility that he won't ever come, yet there is a chance that he will. A silver lining of hope against the grey clouds. Better not get my hopes up though.

A chance for me, Iridessa Miller, to finally understand the worldly need. There are things we all want and need at the same time. I'm thinking though, human beings are just too selfish and wanting more, they seem.. Very un-contented.

All they do is crave and crave. I guess thats a part of my idiotic opinion, But if I ever mention that to my friends, they'll blow up and be the askholes they could be.

"Iridessa?" His voice broke me out my rant-thoughts.

I suddenly grew concious. I don't know how he does this to me, or any reason why I'm being like this- but it comes natural with boys I guess.

I checked my wrist, glancing at the watch that told time as if it were it's only languagge. I looked back at him and saw him sitting down with glory, I glared though. He has a way of turning sunshine into rain.

"Stamford." I greeted stiffly. He snickered and leaned on the table, his face going closer to mine. Then he flashed his Oh-So-Heavenly-Grandtastic-Smile.

I swear almost everyone (even boys)- except me- swooned at Rosie's Diner. The guy just has a way of being loved and hated, mostly loved. I don't know what this guy is trying to gain.

"Anyway, You're 1 hour and 33 minutes late. Now what is your excuse this time? Your dog ate your watch and you didn't know the time because you couldn't have asked anyone or watched the clock or your phone because you didn't know anything about time?" I ranted.

His shoulders dropped and so with his wonderful aura. That should've got him, I thought while staring at him.

"Actually, I had an appointment and we spent longer than I thought. You're lucky I rushed here quickly- and No, Dess, We don't have a dog." He responded.

"How should I know that Mr.S-squared?" I stuck my tongue out.

"Because you know everything, Miller."

I rolled my eyes at his lame retort and was caught off by my PB&Banana Milkshake being place down infront of me. I took a sip and it was heavenly yummy. Yet it seems too painful for my throat because it's sweet.

Like heaven on hell. We love things that are not good for us. That's life sometimes. And thats Sam's consequences of his clumsy tardiness that he doesn't get to order and oggle at my milkshake.

"Back on topic. Do you still remember why I called you here to Rosie's?" I asked, sipping my shake.

"Yeah, You said you needed a therapist. I don't see why I'm fit for that description but I guess I had nothing much to do." He shrugged anyways.

"Uh, I was wondering if you'd help me and teach me about this thing called 'l-o-v-e' and all that. I know, I know- How lame. All in my life I've never had experienced that.. That feeling. And I think you're just the guy for this job." I explained.

"And plus, I heard you were a love-expert." I added once he stood silent. His face was unreadable with his smirk and foggy blue eyes. He seemed boyfriend material.

"Who told you that crazy idea?" He smirked with cockiness.

"Oh you know, Just a bunch of my girlfriends who hooked up with you. They said you were the best of them all. I'm here to prove them wrong." I responded, whispering the last part hoping he didn't hear.

Fortunately he didn't, because he was too busy laughing at my explaination.

And to those of you who think this is a crazy dare made up by my friends on one kiki night, think again because you are right. They think that this Sam Stamford was too perfect to he human and he had some secret and flaw.

I was a great actress so they dared me. Me being the naïve and clumsy Iridessa, I agreed. Plus I was curious on who this guy really is. I mean I've met and heard of him and talked with him but we're not close and all. Plus, I think he's attractive and boyfriend material, as I've said.

"So you up to it?" I asked him with a silver spark of hope that he'll say yes, just so that all of this will be over. Part of me is dreading for the moment he says no though, because thats when money will come crumbling down my friend's feet.

He sighed, "I'm up to it."
