" Well this is boring ." I said , the five of us carpooled into my fathers van. We had bean driving for about 2 hours when dad turned down a dirt road .
" We have bean looking for this temple for a long time , since the first team to find it disappeared without a trace" Dad said somberly.
" Well, if the General Carirex has awoken....." Nicole began.
" Then we're screwed!" A muffled voice came from the trunk.
" Shut up back there Grimm!" Dad shouted towards the trunk .
" Come back and make - ow!" Grimms voice came beside a loud thud against the back seat as dad took his foot off the break and we kept on . Less then an hour later we came up on a man running towards us.
" STOP ! STOP ! TURN AROUND AND DRIVE AWAY!" He screamed .
We stopped ( another thud and curse coming from the trunk ) and Dad got out .
" Stevvens ? Is that you ?" He called out .
" Nicolas ! For the love of God Nicolas run! Turn around and get out of here !" Stevvens shouted .
" Calm down old friend what happened !" Dad demanded
" Black.... Voices .... Ben, Emily, the students.... DEAD! Then... Walking again..... Tried to kill me !" He cried, breaking down and sobbing . Dad put an arm around him and said " Get in the car . The rest of us will walk from here ."
" But Nicolas.... You... You need to run." He said , getting in the driver seat .
" We will be ." Dad replied before opening the trunk and letting Grimm out . Tori and Nicole made their way out as well, and we retrieved our equipment from the trunk . I squeezed the Roastwood haft if my ax gently .
" Stevvens , how far to the temple ?" Asked dad .
" About a mile. "
" Take the car back to my house . Then, go home ." Dad said as he picked up a fairly large falchion.
" Let's go." He said as the car turned and sped away .
A mile later we stood before a dirt ramp leading down in a hole . At the bottom we found a large double door .
" Put the pendant up to it , Lord ." Said Nicole , semi-patiently .
I pressed the pendant on the necklace to the door and with a loud BOOM , the doors parted . I heard the chittering of something moveing and took another step before a huge hammer hit the ground before me , jumping back , I saw something that was half man, half spider wielding a very large hammer . It's upper body was human , but it hissed like a spider and looked like an arachnid from the waist down. It hissed again and began to bring the happier up again before Nicole's sword stopped it from doing so, cleaving the creatures body in two. As it fell apart , she looked to me . "You better be more careful , my lord." She said softly , before straitening up. " This way , to General Carirex's tomb." She said , leading the way .
