Chapter 9: Not as Planned

*LIZ POV*

I decided I’d make myself look a bit more presentable for the date and ditch my trademark ‘messy bun’ for a straight look.

“Liz you’ve been in there for an hour!” Abbey said.
“Taming this mane is work!” I shouted back.
“Girl” Cass barged in “Let me help, we’re going to be late” she grabbed the straightener. It took her almost no time to straighten my hair. “It wasn’t that hard to do, you just do everything in slow motion” she teased.
“And besides I don’t think he’ll be focusing much on your hair anyways, with your ‘half-naked’ self” Abbey teased.
“I am not” I laughed. I channeled my inner Aj Lee wearing of course my ‘Asylum’ t-shirt with a pair of nicely fitted shorts which I rarely ever wear with high rise Nikki Bella socks and classic black and white low-top Converse.
“And you shaved too” Cass teased.
“Stop” I laughed “Let’s get out of here”

*DEAN’S POV*

“Cass just texted” Roman said “They’re here”
“Already?” Seth Asked “They’re early”
“Well I guess we’d better hurry” I said. “You remember the plan for tonight right?” I told Dolph.
“Yeah, I’m ready” Dolph said adjusting his ponytail.

We hurried and made our way toward the girls and greeted them.

“Looking good ladies” Roman said hugging Cass.
“Check you out” Seth teased Liz. I must admit, she did look amazing. I was checking her out awful hard that night. She looked absolutely perfect wearing my shirt and those shorts hugged every part of her in the right way, everything complimented her in the best way. “Changing it up I see” Seth said hugging her.
“Got to keep it fresh” She teased.
“And your hair is fabulous Cass” Seth complimented.
“Why thank you” Cass smiled back. “I try” she laughed because her hair was in a neatly pinned bun with a few hairs hanging out.
“You really do look nice” I told Liz as I hugged her.
“Thank you” She told me “And look at you, with your arms all hanging out, trying to show off for your match” she teased. I laughed.
“We’ll see who’s stealing the show tonight Ambrose” Dolph teased, playfully winking at Liz as he joined us.
“In any case…” I playfully pushed Dolph aside. “Whose ready for some MONDAY NIGHT RAW!” I cheered.
“WOO!”

*LIZ POV*

We had ringside seats and I was excited. Dean had an opportunity at a title shot if he won a qualifying match against Dolph and I knew it was going to be straight fire.

The Miz started the show with some trash talk, prompting the ‘Smacktalker, Skywalker” Enzo Amore to make his presence known, along with Big Cass. That confrontation ended with a match for later in the night. The card also included Aj Lee, Nikki Bella, Randy Orton, Finn Balor, Kaitlyn, and Charlotte among others.

Dean and Dolph’s match was up next. Dolph came out and talked some trash until Dean’s music hit, interrupting him.

“And they’re off!” Jerry “The King” Lawler shouted into the mic as Dean wasted little time getting down to the business, ambushing Dolph with elbows left and right.

Dolph took control with a superkick to the face.

“AHH!” I cringed, I could swear Dean lost a tooth. Dolph then hit him with the zig zag and went for the cover but kicked out. “YES!” I shouted.
“Aren’t you supposed to be neutral in this match” Cass teased.
“Hush” I said “Let’s go Deano!”

Dean threw Dolph into the crowd landing right in front of me.

“WOO!” I shouted as I faintly heard Dolph say ‘play along’  as Dean came and they began to come to blows, Dolph dodged one of Dean’s elbow shots landing him right in front of me as Dolph shot me a smirk, again I cheered. Playing off the WWE Universe Dean turned up the charm and said.
“Hey, how ya doing?” I smiled and said
“Good” we then pretended to have a conversation, he finished my beer before realizing the ref started a count. Dolph dragged him back in the ring. The WWE Universe loved that bit.

The match went on for another 15 minutes, it was quite evenly matched. Dolph was this close to getting the pinfall when he went for the Zig Zag but Dean reversed it into Dirty Deeds and got the win.

“WOOOO!” I shouted along with the rest of the ‘Ambrose Asylum’. The show went to commercial so I ran backstage quickly to congratulate the boys on a killer match. “You guys KILLED it!” I said as they pulled me into a group hug.
“How’d you like our little ‘curve ball’?” Dolph teased.
“So that’s what that was” I laughed.
“You handled it like a pro” Dolph said.
“Told you she would” Dean said.
“So it was your idea” I said playfully punching his side. We took a quick selfie which I captioned #ohiokidzklub. I made it back just as the main event was about to begin between Seth and Kevin Owens. Seth dominated most of the match, he went up on the top rope, when he came down…

*Moments Later…*

Seth was rushed to the back to get his knee evaluated. The doctors said that he had torn something in knee his which would put him out of commission for a while.
“What in the world were you thinking?” I asked.
“How bad is it?” Abbey asked.
“The doctor says anywhere between two weeks to six months.” Dean told her.
“Don’t remind me…” Seth groaned.
“How did you manage to finish the match I don’t even know” Cass said looking at Seth’s x-rays
“And with a curb-stomp at that” I added.
“They don’t call him ‘the man’ for nothing” Roman somewhat teased, making Cass chuckle, earning a smile from Seth. The doctors then came in and ‘kicked’ us out of the room for some last-minute business.

*Outside of the arena*

“Sorry we missed our date” Dean said.
“Don’t be, he’s your brother, I’d have done the same thing” I told him.
“There’s a pretty cool restaurant up the road if you’re still interested.
“I can always eat” I laughed.

*At the restaurant*

“Right this way” the usher said taking us to the table, the waiter joined us shortly after.
“May I take your order please” He said.
“Ladies first…” Dean said.
“Oh…” I began “Let me see…Can I have the fillet with the fries, and a Blue Moon please”
“Nice choice” Dean teased “And I’ll have the tri-tip, well done with a Carona please”
“Fancy” I teased.
“Gotcha” the waiter said “I’ll be back shortly with your drinks” he said walking away.

*during dinner*

“So I’ve kind of got to ask, what was your first impression when you met me?” He asked
“I kind of thought you were bigger in person” I chuckled.
“Really?” he laughed.
“Yeah, I guess the camera makes you look small” I laughed “And I thought you were pretty funny…”
“Oh yeah?...” he smiled

*At Liz’s House (DEAN’S POV) *

I walked Liz to her front door.

“I had the best time” she smiled.
“I’m glad” I told her. “I’m still sorry about tonight, I had a such good plans lined up…”
“Dean, stop apologizing, Seth is your best friend and quite frankly I’d have to slap you if you left without checking on him first”
“Yes ma’am” I laughed. “But next time, prepared to be wowed”
“Next time?” She asked.
“Yeah”
“Oh” she teased “I’ll be looking forward to it” she laughed

*LIZ POV*

“I like your smile Red” he said pulling my hair behind my ear. I laughed a bit as his facial stubble rubbed against my cheek.
“What’s so funny?” he asked. I rubbed his cheek.
“You know I kind of like this, not many people can pull it off but you make it work, even with that baby face of yours”
“Baby face?”
“You mean to tell me nobody’s told you you have the cheeks of a newborn baby?” I said pinching his cheek a bit.
“Actually no” He laughed. Just then Roman pulled up.
“I believe that’s your que” I told him.
“We’ll finish this conversation later” He smirked
“Don’t we always” I laughed
“See ya Red”
“Later Babyface” I teased.
