The song above is sung in this chapter. It is here so you can listen to the whole thing. Mostly for people who don't know the song. Or if you need to listen to it because it's now stuck in your head. XOXO.

"Just ask her out bro," I here walking in the studio. The boys hear me and their conversation comes to a screeching halt.
"Sorry I'm late. I got stuck in traffic," I tell them. Jasper and Reed stare at Lento as Lento stares at me. I try not to feel like they are boring holes through me as I get my bass out of it's case. I hear Jasper giggle and get shushed by both Lento and Reed.
"Sorry I just can't not giggle," Jasper giggles again. I roll my eyes at them and give my bass a strum. Reed clears his throat and nods his head towards Lento. Lento shakes his head as if to say 'no'. I roll my eyes at them.
"Um so what are we practicing today?" I ask.
"Lento found a new song for us to cover," Jasper says giggling. We all roll our eyes at him.
"Well what is the song?" I ask them.
"Amnesia by Britney Spears," Reed says giddily. I squint my eyes in confusion.
"That's sung by a girl," I tell them. They all shake their heads happily. "Oh no I'm not singing anything. Please no."
"Aww c'mon S, why not?" Lento says batting his eyelashes funnily.
"I don't sing, I'm not really good at it," I tell them. In all honesty I don't know if I can sing or not. I'm just not into that. I like the bass and I'll stick with the bass.
"Sure you aren't. You are just saying that so you don't have to do it," Reed taunts me.
"No, I seriously am terrible," I argue.
"We'll be the judges of that. Sing us something simple," Lento urges me. My heart jumps a little when he says that. The fact that Lento asks me to makes the task even more nerve racking.
"Um okay, I guess," I clear my throat and think of something to sing. ". . . turn it up it's your favorite song, dance dance dance to the distortion. Turn it up keep it on repeat, stumbling around like a wasted zombie . . . ." I sing as nicely as I can. My stomach twists at the silence. The boys look at me with wide eyes. Oh, great, they hated me. My singing was terrible.
"Star, that was, that was amazing. Why did you tell us that you were terrible?" Jasper fumes at me.
"Because I didn't think I was good, I still don't think I'm good," I confess. Reed shakes his head. I watch Lento who mumbles something.
"I should so ask her,"

"Hey, S, you're a girl," Lento places his hand on my shoulder after practice.
"Um, yes, did you just notice that or?" I ask him. Honestly why do humans ask stupid things?
"I need help asking a girl out. Any tips?" He asks me.
"Tell her you want to go outside with her and make sure she has a coat with her if the climate happens to be frigid that day," even more stupid questions. Why do these things need asked?
"Okay so you are weird. I mean on a date, Star."
"Well look at the weather and whatever date you think is the best to go outside is the date you'll do it."
"Not that kind of date like a romantic date where a guy asks a girl to go do something with him so they can determine if they are compatible or not."
"Oh then why didn't you just say that in the first place? That would've made more sense," Lento rolls his eyes when I say that.
"So you can help me?"
"Yeah what is she like?"
"Well, she's smart and artsy and funny in a weird way. She's very musically talented and basically a really close friend of mine."
"Don't do it, friends are never a good choice of mate. You're setting yourself up for failure as soon as you ask her an a romantic adventure of compatibility."
"Um, okay then. I like your long and unique term for date. I think I'll use romantic adventure of compatibility more often," Lento pats my back and let's me finish packing up my things to leave. He seems . . . disappointed. I wonder why.
