"Ayyye Lento, Star texted me she's sick, can't make it. She also said she forgot her instrument in your car  I'm babysitting for my Aunt later and can drop it off. Her building is on the same street." Reed exclaims when Lento walks in late. "Man you look effed up. What did you do last night?" Lento sighs kicks a chair closer to him and sits  he wipes his face.

"I kissed her." He whispers. He clears his throat and speaks a little louder, "before she left my car I placed my hands on her cheeks and kissed her. Then she just ran out of the car, that is why she left her bass in there." Jasper drops his drumstick.

"I told you she was weird. I guessed she was lesbian from the start!" Reed exclaims.

"There is probably a better reason that she ran away, nerves probably," Jasper says in response, "I see the way she looks at you in practices. You compliment her, she blushes. She's probably just some weird girl from Ohio who has never had a boyfriend because her strict parents wanted her to study. She never got pretty until college and she doesn't know how to handle a hot guy liking her."

"Jasper, you lived in Indiana for a couple years before coming to California for high school. Is Ohio any different?" Lento retorts.

"L, they put ranch dressing on everything and over half of them own goats. Goats man, goats." Reed tells him as he pulls a chair next to Lento.

"Yeah, but Star is. . . She's different. I really like her. I've never liked any girl like her." Lento confesses. He sighs.

"Yo, she will realize how awesome you are soon enough, just don't worry about it." Jasper tells Lento. Lento stares at the ceiling and blinks back tears.

What was that? Why did he do that? Am I the girl in the drawing? Why didn't I kiss him back? The doorbell to my apartment rings. I shoot up from my couch and walk to the door. Oh, it's just Reed with my bass. I open the door and I'm greeted by, well not Reed. That piece of hair falls in front of his face perfectly as his sparkling eyes look up at me. I cough into my elbow to fake being sick.

"Hey S. I brought your bass," Lento tells me after my really fake cough.

"Thank you," I take it from him and set it next to the door.

"Hey, can I come in? I kinda wanna talk to you about something," He asks me. My heart flutters a little and I melt. Why does this always happen to me?

"Yes, come right in," I tell him. Gotta play cool. I shut the door behind him.

"So, about yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking, I should've asked you if I could kiss you or even tell you I liked you first or something. I felt bad that you faked being sick to avoid me at practice today and I just," He tells me before I cut him off.

"I think you are . . . really cool, is that what people say, cool? I-I don't know," I say to him. His eyes kinda sparkled when I said that. "Uh so yeah. You want to sit down?"

"Yeah, I guess I could stay awhile," He smiles. He grabs my hand and pulls me onto the couch with him. I fall onto his lap. I think my heart exploded. What is this? Why do I feel like this? "Ha wow you look really pretty today. I like being so up close to you. All our voice lessons should be like this."

"Um isn't this rude, me sitting on you?" I ask him. Well I know my heart didn't explode it's still beating, very loudly.

"I like you, I don't care. It makes me want to kiss you." He tells me with a mini eye attack.

"I think your eye is messed up, or something is in it. Maybe it's the dark circles under your eyes." I wipe the circles on his face gently. Lento laughs.

"Baby girl I was winking at you, I said I wanna kiss you so maybe you would kiss me," he smiles and puts his hand behind his head. The muscles in his arm are prominent when it's like that. I almost feel like they will break his shirt. It's kinda cool. "So do you want to kiss me?"he leans closer to me. Music starts playing in my bedroom.
