Amber, Andrea, and I walked through the mall, looking for dresses for the wedding. Amber and Andrea already knew which ones they were getting since they were bridesmaids. "I think this one would look good on you, Avery." Amber smiled at me, holding out a tight, bright pink dress.
"Have you met me?" I motioned to my black t-shirt and dark skinny jeans. "No pink. Find a different colour, and I'll try it on." I smiled, going back to look through some others. She soon walked over with a dark blue dress with gold patterns. "Alright, I'll try it." I smiled at her, grabbing it and going to the dressing rooms. Once I got changed, I walked out, looking down at the dress. It was tight around my stomach but not too tight, going down to my knees.
"Oh my god, Avery, it's perfect." Amber grinned, running over. "You need to keep this one."
"Alright..." I looked at the price and frowned. "But—"
"Did you forget I'm paying for your dress?" She giggled, pulling me close and lightly kissing my nose. This will take a while to get used to. "Go get changed, I'll pay for it." She smiled.
We walked out of the mall, our dresses in bags in our hands. "Hey, I'm gonna go check something out. Amber, I'll text you." Andrea smiled before walking away.
"So..." Amber took my hand, intertwining our fingers. "I was thinking we could grab some lunch together?" She looked over, softly blushing.
I felt my cheeks heat up, smiling. "Yeah, that sounds nice. Where were you thinking?"
"Just somewhere in the food court, yeah?" She smiled, leading me towards the food court. "And I was hoping... Maybe... This would count as a date?" She blushed a bit more, looking down.
I grinned, lightly squeezing her hand. "Yeah, it's a date."
We sat down at a table with our food, our hands intertwined on the table as we ate. Something hit my foot and I looked down, seeing her foot against mine. I looked back up at her and she smiled, the blush back, avoiding eye contact. Oh, so that was on purpose. I smiled, gently tapping my foot against hers. Her smile got bigger and she went back to eating, as did I. So this is what playing footsie is like... The chair next to me moved and I looked over, smiling at Andrea. "Hey Andrea."
"Hey you two. Am I interrupting something?" She looked at each of us. I looked at Amber, who looked back, then we both looked at Andrea and shook our heads. "Okay, that was weird. My mom says we should get home."
"Alright. Let's drop off Avery and we can go." Amber sighed, but got up and tossed our stuff out. She came back and put her hand out. "C'mon." I smiled and stood, taking her hand and intertwining our fingers again.
"This was really nice, thank you." I smiled at Amber, my bag in my hand, my other hand still in hers.
"Of course. I want to show people how hot my girlfriend looks."
"Girlfriend?" I tilted my head.
"Yeah." She blushed, biting her lip and looking down before looking back at me. "Will you be my girlfriend, Avery?"
"Yes." I grinned, leaning over and softly kissing her. She smiled, wrapping her arms around my waist and pulling me close, slowly kissing back.
A/N: I know it's short, and bad, but I felt bad that I haven't uploaded an actual chapter in a while. I hope it suffices. Imagine the dress a bit smaller.
