"I like storms. They let me know that even the sky, screams sometimes."

3 months later:
Cassie:
I sat expectantly on the couch outside the office of the general manager, awaiting my turn for the interview of a job at the coffee shop. I was in desperate need of a job. For the past three months, I was holed up in the house, I never left the house. I was always contemplating whether I should even step out of the house, in case anyone recognized me; which was rather impossible, guess I was just being paranoid. But Eva; my distant cousin who had helped me a lot during my move, made me understand that I cannot always hide under my blanket and hope for the monster to go away. Someday I would have to step out and face the monster myself, plus my savings were not going to last forever.
So here I was, with not much hope because I had already given 6 interview, all came back with a rejection letter. Mainly because I had such a large gap between my working periods. I had worked for about three years and then I had stopped because of certain circumstance.
As I waited patiently, the door opened and out came a young woman with dishevelled hair, smudged lipstick and an extremely short and inappropriate dress for an interview, striding with confidence. That's when I knew I had lost that job as well. After her, a man in his mid-thirties came out in wrinkled clothes, looking flushed. No wonder they were in there for such an extended time having a long talk. I stood up as he approached me.
"I am extremely sorry but I don't think that position is still vacant, but I wouldn't mind taking your interview, if you know what I mean.", he said as his eyes scanned my body.
I knew exactly what he meant. I shook my head feeling disgusted and exposed.
"That's alright, I wouldn't want to waste my time. Thank you.", I said and turned away from him then walked out of the shop.
I stood outside the shop near the entrance. I tipped my head back and stared into the sky. I felt so frustrated. Just because that girl could give him what I didn't want to she got the job. Great. I took my CV out of my bag and crumpled it into a ball then hurled it into the air, with all my might and vexation.
"Why can't I just get a bloody job!", I screamed at the sky. People walking around the street turned and gave me weird looks. "Sorry?" I said unsurely to no one particularly.
From there, I walked around the edge and traced my steps to the Battery Park. There were not many people in the park during the early hours. Just a few old people walking their dogs. I walked to an empty bench near the river and sat on it. I closed my eyes, took in a deep breath and let myself feel the warmth of the New York sun on my skin. I let myself forget my problems just for a moment and get lost into the tranquillity; something that was easily lost in the hustle and bustle of the busy city.
I kept my eyes shut as I felt someone come and sit next to me, after a few minutes.
"You know, when life shuts one door on our face, several others open. You just need to know how to find them.", said a gentle voice of a lady.
I opened my eyes to look at the woman. She looked like she was in her late 40's, laugh lines crinkled around her eyes, a face which showed evidence of a beautiful youth. She wore a powder blue cashmere dress, she wore her hair in an elegant updo. She seemed very caring. She was very graceful and pretty. As I studied her she took out a crumpled piece of paper from her bag and carefully unfolded it. It was my CV, the one I had thrown After my unsuccessful job interview.
"Young. Well qualified in Hotel management. 3 years' worth of experience. In need of a job. Then where am I lacking? That's the question you might be asking yourself when you receive a rejection letter. Well, I think you just haven't found the right destination for yourself. How badly do you need a job?", the lady asked in a very kind manner.
