"The best portions of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you."

The name shone brightly illuminated by white light, the sign was mounted on the surface of the black textured wall. There was a long queue of people awaiting their turn to get inside one of the most happening nightclubs in New York. There were two hefty bouncers dressed in white uniforms at the beginning of the line, checking ID's of the crowd and letting them through one by one. And trust me, the line was moving much slower than a snail.
"Eva, it will take us hours to get in. Just look at the crowd.", I pointed out a visible fact. "Can't we just go to a park or something?"
"Are you kidding me? Cassie, we are here to celebrate, not to have a picnic. And for the part of getting in, just follow my lead.", Eva said flipping her hair and adjusting her low-cut sequence dress, as we made our way to the front of the line. Eva leaned forward and said something into one of the bouncer's ear. He quickly stepped back removing the red velvet rope letting us slip by. I saw a few college students scowl at us.
"What did you say to him?", I asked Eva as we pushed our way into the club.
"You remember Josh, he works here. I told him we were coming and he arranged a way for us to easily get in. I just told that guy that Josh was expecting us.", Eva explained as I nodded in understanding.
Josh was one of Eva's closest friends. He and Eva were in High school together and then Eva went to Med school, while Josh graduated and was working as a manager in the nightclub.
The place had hundreds of conversations being exchanged in loud voices, all of them competing with the rock music that dominated the atmosphere. There were stripes of dull neon lights running horizontally on the wall across the dance floor. The dance floor was crowded with people dancing and swinging their bodies against each other, to the beat of the thundering music under the flashing disco lights. The smoke twisted in its artistic way, forming curls in the gloom, illuminated only by the age-speckled bar lights. Along the wall was every hue of amber liquid in their inverted bottles. A bar platform curved along, high rise stools were place near them, where drinks were constantly being exchanged. Tinted windows overlooked the dance floor from the VIP lounge.
"Eva!", I heard a male voice yell over the loud music, as we turned to face the approaching man. He was lean and tall, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, a boyish grin graced his clean shaved face. He had messy dirty blonde hair and deep green eyes.
"Josh! How are you?", Eva screamed as she hugged Josh.
"I'm great. How have you been? It's been a long time."
"I'm good. Yeah, we need to catch up some other time."
His green eyes fell upon me. I felt very exposed as he scanned my body from head to toe, he gave me an appreciative look. I mentally cursed Eva for making me look pretty. She had forced me wear a tight black dress that stopped mid-thigh. The material hugged my body like a second skin, defining my curves in all the right places. She had made me put on a smoky eye look with maroon lipstick. I had to say, she had done a bloody good job.
"And who is this beautiful lady?", Josh asked as he reached out for my hand.
"Josh, this is my cousin; Cassie. Cassie, meet Josh."
"Hi.", I squeaked as he brought my hand to his lips and placed a kiss on my knuckles. I squirmed as his lips met my skin.
"Pleasure to meet you Cassie.", He said in a deep tone.
