I promised, didn't I? (:

Plus, since I'm just sitting around in the waiting room of the orthodontist's office awaiting the fate of getting my braces tightened, what else could I possibly be doing?

"This is completely insane."

"And you're completely overreacting, Marinette! Come on, you and I both know everything will be fine."

"No."

"Yes."

Alya tugged on her arm one last time, but the bluenette didn't budge even an inch. There was absolutely no way she was going to do what Alya was suggesting. Not even for all of the money in the world (or even the instantaneous disappearance of Chloe) would she ever-

"Adrien! Marinette wants to tell you something!" Alya sang, while Marinette sunk even further into her shoes, her face completely draining of color as Adrien began to walk toward her. She was definitely going to kill Alya when this was all over.. but for now, her fingers were clasped so tightly onto Alya's shirt that she'd need her alive in order to be her human shield.

But it was much too late for that, because the blonde goddess was already curious as to what Marinette was going to ask him. Although, being the stuttering mess she always was, Marinette stared at him hopelessly without a word. As Adrien asked her what she needed him for, she cleared her throat loudly.

"Um, I-I don't remember what I was g-going to say," Marinette's sputtered lamely, fingers clutched into Alya's shoulders so tightly that she was entirely sure she would soon draw blood. The auburn girl rolled her eyes and sighed, shaking her head at her totally shy best friend. She was going to make this happen, even if Mari didn't comply- she'd do it herself.

She nudged her best friend in the gut. "Sure you do, Mari! Remember how you were telling me that you wanted to ask Adrien on a da-" Alya's eyes widened as Marinette's hand flew faster than the speed of light to clasp over her mouth and cut her sentence short.

"I wasn't going to say anything," Marinette hissed in a loud whisper that both could still hear, sending a death glare at Alya but quickly recomposing herself when she noticed Adrien glancing at her oddly.

And then he laughed.

He had attempted to contain it.. but it was nearly impossible. It was a beautiful sound, really, but it wasn't like he was laughing at her expense, he just.. knew.

He scratched the back of his neck and smiled. "Marinette, if you wanted to ask me on a date I would've said yes," in the pause between his words the bluenette quickly forgot how to breathe.

And she lost it. "R-really? I mean, I was going to ask you for some coffee exactly twelve days and thirteen hours from n-now, but um I felt like I might've been rushing things s-so I wasn't sure a-and,"

"She procrastinated a few months to to say the least." Alya sighed, shook her head and laughed while crossing her arms. She knew her friend would usually hold things off for really long periods of time, but this? This was a bit ridiculous.
