This chapter was brought to you by my friend and I brainstorming this together on the way to run the mile and the 4 by 4 relay at our track meet. Kill me (: Oh, and state testing is tomorrow.. that's probably a problem too.
I know I haven't been focusing much on my other book.. but that'll change soon! It's only because I'm trying to get this book up as best I can, not to mention it's much smaller than my other one.

/an Odd occurrence\
"Where is that girl?" Alya groaned, glancing oddly at the empty seat beside her. If was an often occurrence that Marinette was late.. but not three class periods late. Nino shrugged and turned around, directing his attention back on the lesson. Alya was also quite suspicious because it was uncommon for Marinette to decline her invites. Or, at least if she declined she'd have said something as to why. Maybe she just.. needed some time off? Relative in the hospital?
These questions all rolled through her mind before she snapped out of her trance, the teacher briefly calling on her to answer the next question upon noticing her lack of attention. "I'm sorry ma'am? Can you repeat that?"
Mrs Bustier just shook her head and sighed. "I'm sorry Alya, but I think you should go to the principals office. I believe I had to repeat myself a few times before you ceased your daydreaming. Maybe you can call your parents to pick you up and get some rest, yeah?"
"Okay." Alya said blankly, slinging her binder over her shoulder and sighing all the while receiving glares from jealous students yearning to be in her shoes. She blinked a few times. At least now she'd have more time to try and figure out where Marinette was.

"Adrien dude, where were you? I didn't see you all day." Nino spoke into the phone right after school, his friend answering immediately.
He heard a sigh on the other end of the line. "It's my dad. He took me on a stupid business trip with him, I can't even hang out at the hotel, can you believe that? I have to stay by his side twenty-four seven to be his perfect son." Nino frowned upon hearing this.
"It's alright dude. When you get back, then we can hang out. Okay?" Adrien agreed, allowing the boy with the glasses to grin foolishly. "By the way, are you far out of the city?"
"Nah. Just past the limits. Not much of a business trip if we're only a few miles away from the mansion, right? But anyways, not like any of that matters to my father that much." Adrien replied, then Nino cringing upon hearing the angry voice of his father scolding him in the background. "Gotta go. I'll see you later bro. I'm coming back later tonight."
And then their brief conversation ended, Nino feeling bad for his best bud. He set the phone down, arms stretching, collapsing on his couch and flicking the TV on. The news channel was on."Hello citizens of Paris, I'm Martha Rottman and I'm here to give you today's weather report. Tonight we have an 80% chance of thunderstorms with lots of cloud cover, expecting to tear through the west side. The humidity range will only be in about the 20% marker, pollen levels are very high so be advised for any allergies you may have. Temperatures will rise and fall between 67 and 44 degrees Fahrenheit (19 and 6 degrees Celsius). Now to Evan Colluage, our story team director."
Nino glanced down at his phone, remembering that Adrien had clearly told him that he was coming back tonight. He thought momentarily about the weather that was to come, and if he should warn him about it. Nino shrugged to himself and began to type once again to his friend. But, he was stopped short after hearing the news continuing to play in the background.
"- According to local detectives, based on the evidence collected this kidnapping may have been the work of none other than Chat Noir. Researchers are working desperately to figure out the masked assassin's location or anyone that could possibly be involved with him, and until then the whereabouts of him and his victim are still unknown. I'll update you immediately if we receive any leads. Back to you, Martha."
Nino could have listened to the report on and on if he hadn't caught sight of the picture of the bandit's victim, and it seemed he knew the girl very well.
========================
Adrien yawned.
Black clouds swirled around the resort, the dense lighting only further encouraging his exhaustion. A storm was on its way, so his father insisted they waited it out until morning. He was starting to doze off in a bright green armchair at the edge of the room.
A tv on very low volume buzzed with an old sitcom that was foreign to him, it's screen blurry in front of him due to the constant power outages. He grabbed the remote, bored of the channel. He decided upon looking at the news to maybe be further educated by some of the stories in there.
Before he even got a glance at it, he heard the front door close, which indicated his father had left for the night. This was his chance.
He stood up and shot out of the room, opening the door to his suite all the while slowly shutting it behind him. For the first time since this terrible vacation had started, Adrien would finally have some time to let loose and roam free. Well, as Chat Noir of course.
But, it seemed that maybe he should have paid a bit more attention to the news that night.
=======================
Raindrops. Marinette could feel them sliding down the back of her hand, sending a cold shiver down her spine. They slithered through her blue locks and then abruptly fell the to ground, lifeless. Surely this would be her next.
A brown, paper bag was tucked in her way of sight, her hands tied behind her back. The room was silent besides the sound of her chest rising and falling at an alarming speed. Her limbs twitched after being held in the same position for so long. She yearned for freedom.. but at this point it seemed nearly impossible.
Then she heard a door open from in front of her, heavy footsteps following suit.
"Welcome to hell, Dupain-Cheng." A foreign voice mused.

So who did you think kidnapped Marinette? Do you think Chat will ever find out, or will he possibly be the most oblivious being ever to set foot on the face of the earth?
Find out in the next chapter.. which will be posted on Saturday (:
