"Yes, that's what I'm saying....no! I'm not messing around here!....just see what you can do, goddammit!" You said over the phone. You were talking to your friend, who was recently in a situation similar to yours and just so happened to be an officer of the law. He was in the special department that dealt with trolls, so you figured he was the right guy to help you out. He didn't live too far from where you were staying, either. "This is really important! You know exactly what kind of situation this is! This is what your whole department is founded on!" You said after listening to him speak. "If you can't come over then send in a team! It's not rocket science!" You replied to his comment about not being able to come over himself. He sighed, finally saying that he'd send a team your way. "See, how hard was that? Tell them to come to the place where I'm staying. I'll give you the address after I hang up. Thanks so much!" You finished and hung up. You quickly texted him your address and turned to Sollux, who was nervously watching you. "Ith he gonna get my family back?" He asked quietly. "Yes, he is. I promise you you'll see them again." You replied, lifting him up. It was late at night, later than you intended to stay up. "Let's get some rest. You'll need it." You said and carried him to your room. Your dad had still not returned, but he had called you and said that he had taken a visit to the mountains for photography opportunities. After running through your nightly routine, you climbed under your covers and Sollux snuggled up to your chest, his tails already wrapping themselves around your arm. One of his feathery wings was draped over your shoulder, but you didn't mind. Eventually the two of you fell asleep, the events of tomorrow still yet to come.

The next morning, you were awoken by someone knocking at your door. Carefully removing Sollux's tails from your arm, you got out of bed and answered the door. "Hello, are you Miss (l/n)?" A man in combat uniform asked. "I am. Would you like to come in?" You asked. He and his men walked into your house, and you yawned. Time to wake up Sollux. You walked over to your bedroom door and saw him nervously peeking out from behind your doorframe. "It's alright, Sollux. They're gonna get your family back." You said soothingly, gently lifting him up. He latched onto your shirt, tails wrapped around your wrist. "This is Sollux. I found him two days ago and he said that he and his family were separated. We've found the place where we believe that they're being held." You explained to the men. "How can you be sure? We need to have a valid reason before conducting a search." The leader said. "Sollux and his family are Psiioniic. They can sense when another Psiioniic is nearby." You answered. "I see. We'll need to know where this place is." He said. You nodded and went back into your room to change into some decent clothing. Once you were ready, you waked outside with Sollux and got into one of the vans belonging to the team. Sollux was a bit nervous, clinging to you for safety. You buckled up and drove down the street, giving directions to the driver. After a few minutes, you pulled up behind the local church and led the team to the building where Sollux's family was being kept. "They're in there! I can thenth their Thiioniics!" He cried, trying to get out of your arms. "Sol, calm down. You will see them again, I promise, but getting yourself hurt or captured is not the way to do it." You said calmly, retaining your hold on him. The team's leader knocked on the door, and a trashy-looking guy with a cigarette answered it. "Oi, we got visitas!" He shouted. "Well let them in, idiot." Another voice said. The team stepped inside the building, and cautiously, so did you. Sollux was now gripping your shirt so hard that you could feel his little claws digging into your skin. "Sir, we have reason to believe that you are illegally keeping trolls in this establishment." The team leader said to the man who had let you all in. "What? That ridiculous. Do you even know how dangerous those things are? Why the hell would I keep one at my place?" The man replied. "That'th a lie! Papa and Tuna are here! You're lying!" Sollux suddenly shouted, jumping out of your arms to stand on your shoulders. He flared his wings and bared his teeth, and you could hear him growling. The shock on the man's face was clearly visible, but you caught something else in his expression. "Wait a minute...you recognize Sollux." You realized, staring at the man. "No I don't! I've never seen that thing in my life!" He replied. "'S true. First time I've ever seen a troll like that one." The man who answered the door said. Suddenly the lights flickered, going out. Sollux gasped, which meant something probably happened. "Damn lights. I tell ya, the wiring in this place is the worst. I'll just go downstairs and check the fuse box." The second man said. "Mind if I join you?" You suddenly said, making the man pause. "It's real nasty down there. Mold, bugs, smells real bad too." He said, and you knew he was hiding something. "Oh, I've handled worse. I've been halfway across the world, a moldy basement is nothing." You insisted. "Fine, but that thing stays up here. Don't want him screwing up the wires or anything." The man said. "Alright. Sol, you're gonna stay here. I promise you that I'll be fine." You said lifting him off of your shoulders and setting him on the ground. He understood what you were doing, but didn't want you to be alone while doing it. You followed the man downstairs, and he wasn't kidding when he said it was nasty. The first thing that hit you was the smell. It reeked of moldy stone and rotting wood, and the air was somewhat humid and the floors were wet. Small puddles formed here and there, and the ceiling was almost completely covered in cobwebs. "Now lemme go in here and check the box. You stay out here. The thing has a tendency to spark pretty violently." The man said. He took a key from his pocket and unlocked a door to another room, opening it just enough so he could slip in, obviously trying to keep you from seeing something. Right before he closed the door, you stuck your foot in the door so it wouldn't lock all the way. You kept it cracked so you could hear what was going on inside the room. "What the hell are you two doing? If I end up getting arrested because of you two, I'll make sure you never see the light of day again! And that little brat of yours is here too, so maybe I'll stick him down here too! If you don't want that, then get the hell back to work!" He shouted, followed by the sound of him kicking something and a large flash of red and blue light. You suddenly slammed open the door, downright pissed. In the room were two trolls who looked almost exactly like Sollux, only older. Wires were painfully attached to their bodies, and they glowed with red and blue energy. Every time the energy flow was disrupted, the lights flickered. He's using them...as a goddamn power source? You thought. "I beg your damn pardon, but abusive treatment of trolls is illegal, and you have lied to federal officers." You snarled. "So what? No one cares about these monsters. All they're good for is work. Man, I haven't had to pay my electricity bill for nearly a year because of these two. I would've sold that little brat, too if he hadn't escaped." The man spat. There might as well have been steam coming out of your ears. You stormed up to him and punched him in the face as hard as you could, and heard the sound of bones snapping. A blazing pain went through your wrist, but you didn't care. The man stumbled back, clutching his now broken nose. "You have no right to be keeping these trolls here!" You shouted, glaring at him. You found the button to shut off the power, and the wired stopped glowing. You carefully removed the wired from the two trolls, fingers stinging from the excess electricity and wrist in blazing pain. You figured that you punched him so hard that you broke your wrist in the process. When all of the wires were removed you felt the man roughly grab you by the hair. You cried out in pain, and heard shouts from upstairs. "You ain't gettin' away with that little stunt, girlie." He snarled, raising his fist. You realized what he was about to do and closed your eyes, but the impact never came. "What the-" the man started, releasing you. You opened your eyes to see the adult troll gripping the man's forearm, looking even angrier than you had been. The younger troll was still having trouble getting up, so you moved around the adult troll and kneeled beside him. His thick black hair covered his eyes, but you saw mustard-colored tears dripping off his face. You slowly slid your arm under his, making him jump. "It's alright. I'm gonna help you up, alright?" You said calmly, and he nodded. You rose to your feet, supporting the other troll's weight. He was at least ten years younger than you, still a teenager in human years. You heard loud footsteps coming from the stairs, and suddenly the team leader and his men stood outside the room. "Papa!" Sollux cried, wiggling his way through the crowd and flapping his wings to help him jump up and hug the older troll around his neck. "Thollux!" The older troll shouted with the same lisp as Sollux. The troll you were supporting perked up, though he didn't say much that was coherent. You helped him over to the two other trolls, letting go when he reached the adult troll. You walked over to the team leader, clutching your wrist. "Sir, I punched the man and broke my wrist." You stated. "You did what? And you decide to say this now?!" He hissed at you. You just shrugged, and you were instructed to follow one of the men upstairs and out to the medics. The ambulance had supplies for a full X-Ray and cast, so while the team dealt with the situation downstairs, you had your wrist put in a cast to let it heal. When you finally saw the team coming outside, you saw them carrying the two older trolls on stretchers. In broad daylight, they looked almost on the verge of death. Sollux was given to you, and the first thing he did was hug you as tight as he could. "Thank you tho much!" He whispered, crying into your shirt. "You're welcome, Sol." You replied.

Timeskip to a few weeks later...

The two older trolls had fully recovered, and your wrist was almost out of its cast. You had gotten to know the three trolls much better now, and learned the older trolls' names. Mituna was the younger one and Psiioniic, or Psii, was the older one. You were honestly pretty sad that they had to leave, but you couldn't force them to stay even if you really wanted them to. "Maybe I'll see you guys again sometime. I'm always moving around, so who knows?" You said. "Thankth again for all that you've done for uth, (y/n)." Psii said, and he was smiling more than you ever think he has in his life. "We're gonna mith you tho tho tho much!" Mituna said as he tackled you into a hug along with Sollux. "I'll miss you too, Mituna. Take care of yourselves for me, alright?" You said, hugging them back. "Hey, Sollux." You said as Mituna went to join his father. "If you or your family ever need anything, I'll always be there to help you out. And promise me that you won't forget about me, alright?" You said, and he nodded. "Don't forget about me either." He said, giving you one last hug. He joined the rest of his family, and they took off into the sky. You watched them until they were no longer visible in the sky, and turned to head back to your apartment. You felt like this wasn't the last you'd see of them, that's for sure.

Alright! So I finally updated, and I'm sorry if this chapter is a bit rushed, but I did kind of type this up at 1am. But I hope that you guys liked it, and hopefully I'll have another part out soon. See you soon!
