(Y/n) POV
I stayed at my parents' house for these last 9 days until I could find another place to live at and it wasn't easy because the rent was cheap and the space was perfect for me, but I didn't want him to come around hence my reason to just find another place.
I scrolled down and down till I could find a nice reasonable apartment but I couldn't and I had to get to work now, I closed my laptop down and put it back in my nightstand before rushing downstairs and out of the house. I was lucky that my parents' house was much closer to my work place than my own because now it takes me only 10 minutes to get there.
Upon arriving at the store I saw a familiar looking car parked in one of the lots, 'No ways, it couldn't be.' I slammed my car door shut and felt a bit of heat rush to my head, I walked in and didn't see (c/n) anywhere, "Thank the gods." I whispered to myself as I walked to my locker and put my belongings inside before going to set up one of the registers and starting my day.
I was 15 minutes into my shift before I saw our manager walking with another person who looked similar to (c/n) but too formal. I turned my attention back to my customers quickly getting each and everyone done fast and good, when I finished all of the customers our manager walked up to me, "Hey (y/n) can you train the new boy, he's starting with us today and I can't think of anyone who knows the job better than you do." "Yes sir." "Alright come in." A tall figure rounded the corner in our uniform and looked at me, it was (c/n)! I couldn't believe it, he had the nerve to work at the same place as me when he destroyed what love I had left for him days ago. "This is (c/n) and this is (y/n)." The manager said as he pointed to each of us introducing one to another. I shook his hand going along with the "I don't know who you are" protocol when in reality I wanted to get away from this horrid place.
Once he explained everything to (c/n) he left the both of us to continue, something I was dreading. "(Y/n)-" "okay so today I'll teach you everything you need to know, it's not all that hard, tomorrow I'll let you a bit more loose than today, but for now watch and learn." I cut him off and turned around to head to the cash register starting to lessen the amount of customers in the line.
I could feel (c/n) stare in my back as I rung up the people but I didn't care, I had a job to complete and I intended to do so without interruptions.
As I finally finished the line, along with another co-worker, I looked over at him and pointed to the register, we switched places and he rung up a few customers, quiet fast I may add. One after another the people didn't have to wait long till the next was called, all because of (c/n), 'is this the same person that caused my anger just a couple of days ago?' I thought to myself as I tried to keep the surprise to a minimum.
A few hours had passed by and it was finally my time to leave and call it a day, along with him.
"Hey wait up (y/n)!" I didn't turn around rather I kept walking till a presence came beside me, breathing uneven. "H-how have you been these days?" He asked, I kept walking without a single sound or an acknowledgment of him, I could feel he was a bit frustrated and that was when I felt a hand gently wrap itself around my wrist pulling me back enough to stop walking. "What do you want (c/n)?!" I asked frustrated with the bugging, "Can I at least get a bit of acknowledgment?" "Well I know you're here, is that all?" "Sort of, but I also want to know if I've changed a bit in your eyes." "How should I know, I don't live there anymore." "Well, I've managed to keep the house, cook, clean, and keep my life in order." "And now you've decided to work in the same store as me?" "Yes. Does it matter?" He came closer to me and looked into my eyes with sorrow, 'I must not fall for this excuse.' I needed to be stronger. "Yes it does, why did you decide to work here?" "Just because. Anyways I'll see you tomorrow. Good-bye." He let go of my wrist and left to his car leaving a stunned me to walk to my own car and drive off, "Has he really changed?" I whispered as I drove off to my parents' house.
