"No!" Mitch screamed and crawled over to him. There was only one bullet wound which comforted Mitch a little. He sobbed and shook Scott but his eyes just rolled in the back of his head.

"No, no, no, you made it this far come on, please!" Mitch sobbed and the paramedics rushed over to him.

A car pulled up as Mitch was ushered out of the way. "Mitch!" A deep voice yelled but Mitch could barely hear he was crying so hard and focusing on Scott being pulled into the ambulance.

"If you two are riding with him you have to come now!" The paramedic yelled and Mitch turned to see who else we was talking about.

Avi didn't waste any time, he pulled Mitch with him onto the ambulance. Mitch held onto him for dear life as he watched the paramedics work on Scott.

As they neared the hospital Scott's machine started to beep faster and faster until it flatlined. The paramedic in the back yelled up to the one driving, "HE'S FLATLINING!" He crawled on top of him and started to do CPR.

Mitch sobbed loudly and squeezed onto Avi. They pulled into the hospital and the back doors were opened by a few nurses as if they knew they were coming. They rushed Scott out so fast that he was in the surgery room within seconds, the paramedic still doing CPR.

Avi and Mitch were left in the waiting room alone. Mitch was sobbing so hard he couldn't breath and he started to panic.

Avi pulled him to him and whispered in his ear, "it's okay, you're safe now. Everything's going to be okay. Everything will be okay." Mitch couldn't speak and he started to go numb.

Mitch collapsed in Avi's arms unconscious. Avi asked the nurses for help and he carried him to a nearby bed.

Mitch slowly started to wake up his head pulsing with pain. He groaned under his breath and opened his eyes to the disgustingly bright light in the hospital room.

He felt a wave of panic when he didn't recognize his surrounding but relaxed when he saw Avi sitting in the corner.

Avi looked up meeting his eyes and immediately got up. He walked to Mitch's side and smiled, "Hey Mitchie, how are you feeling?" He asked gently at the perfect volume, not too loud on Mitch's headache.

"My head hurts." Mitch's voice came out raspy and he let out a dry cough as if to clear his throat.

"I know they told me you would feel sore for a few days but that you could be discharged as soon as you woke up." Mitch nodded glad he didn't have to stay in the hospital room while Scott was...

"Where's Scott!? Is he okay!?" Mitch asked frantically trying to get out of the bed.

"Woah, woah, slow down. We haven't heard anything. Kevin and Kirstie are in the waiting room and told me that they would call me when they heard anything." Avi said but Mitch continued to rip out all the IVs.

A nurse ran into the room but sighed in relief when she saw that Mitch was okay. "Good thing you're getting discharged now, right?" She asked with a smile.

They discharged him and Avi had to practically sprint to catch up to Mitch as he ran to the waiting room where Kevin and Kirstie were.

They got up from where they were sitting when Mitch approached, "Any word? Is he okay?" He asked immediately.

"Nothing yet," Kirstie said quickly before pulling him into a tight hug. Mitch was tense at first before he relaxed into her touch and squeezed her back.

"Are you okay?"she whispered over his shoulder and he pulled away putting on a fake smile.

He nodded and walked over to Kevin pulling him into a hug. When Kevin went to pull away Mitch buried his face deeper in his chest and squeezed him tighter.

Kevin kissed his forehead and rubbed his back soothingly. "No, I'm not okay. Please make everything okay again, Kevin." He mumbled into his chest tears starting to pool in his eyes.

"It'll all be okay in time little one. You and Scott are safe now and that's all that matters." He said and Mitch pulled away wiping his eyes and looking up him.

"God I missed you." He whispered and turned to look at Avi and Kirstie, "and you guys. I thought I'd never see you again." He whispered and Kirstie wiped her own tears.

"Well here we are and we aren't going anywhere ever." She said and Mitch smiled. He frowned slightly when he saw a police women walk up to them.

"Hello Mitch Grassi?" She asked as politely as she could knowing that the boy had been through a lot. Mitch nodded and braced himself for a series of questions. "I just wanted to let you know that John is dead, one of our officers killed him on the scene. I also have a few questions to ask you but I can wait for a later date."

Mitch sighed in relief but shook his head, "Can you ask them now? I just want to get this over with." He said and the women nodded.

"We can do this more private if you would like." She said politely and he shook his head taking a seat in one of the waiting room chairs.

"I'd rather do it here." He said and Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi took a few steps away but he knew they would listen.

The questions went by smoothly and the officer was very polite in how she asked them. "I can always wait until the doctors can tell me the exact injuries for your friend if you would like."

"Yes thank you." Mitch said immediately not wanting to recount all the things that happened to Scott because of him.
