Light [Ethan Dolan]

•chapter 9•

It was early in the morning and my mom so happened to barge into my room while I was fast asleep. I felt a pillow hit me in the head. A groan slipped out of my lips and I stood up rubbing my head in the process.

"Ugh seriously mom, what time is it?"I asked getting up from my bed and checking the time on my phone to see it was 8:48am.

"Why'd you wake me up this early?" I replied falling back down onto my bed as I put a pillow over my face then taking it off quickly.

"You got a package in the mail sweetie." She stated before walking out of the room.

I nodded and threw on a grey hoodie, some leggings and my black fuzzy socks. I walked down the stairs from my room. I opened the front door to see a big brown box. I looked around outside in confusion. I don't remember ordering anything. I shrugged and grabbed the box to see it was kind of heavy. I walked it up to my room and I set it on the floor besides my bed.

I grabbed a knife from downstairs and cut the box open. There was a note attached to the flap of the box. I opened the pink paper and saw someone's writing.

Hey Hailey, you're probably wondering who this is. It's me Ethan and I know I barley even know you, but everyone deserves to be spoiled on their birthday.

Inside this box is the things that I bought for you I hope you like them and by the time you get this it will already be past your birthday. But Happy Birthday and oh Grayson says hi.

I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion and shrugged deciding to just open the box. I saw green tissue paper covering the thing or things inside. I guess Ethan remembers that green is my favorite color. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

The box was a bit heavy and I didn't want to try to shake it just in case there was something fragile inside of it. I saw a box and I opened it revealing a pair of tan Uggs. I smiled why would he get me this? I barley even know him. I found another box a bit smaller and it was way heavier. I opened it and inside was a camera.

No way, he did not just get me a new camera. It was more advanced then my other one and I smiled and jumped around my room letting out a squeal like some school girl.

I grabbed my phone and called his number. I forgot that I had just woke up and I probably look like crap. My hair was curly and let down. I wore no makeup. Ew

"Hailey?" Ethan asked rubbing his eyes
"Oh I'm sorry did I wake you?" I questioned immediately feeling guilty

"No it's okay I'm awake now." Ethan replied giving me a small smile.

"I'm really sorry I just wanted to say thank you, I got your package in the mail today and it really means a lot to me. You didn't have to you know?" I smiled at him pulling a piece of hair behind my ear.

"I wanted to Hailey, your welcome." He said getting up from his bed and I got a glance at his body and let me just tell you it wasn't bad looking. Like at all.

"Grayson!" Ethan called as he walked in his house.

Grayson said something in the background that I didn't understand and hear from here. Ethan's phone trembled and soon enough another face that looked quite similar to Ethan popped onto the screen.

"Hey Grayson!" I smiled at him.
"Good morning girlfriend." Grayson winked giving me a cheesy smile.

"Morning Gray, did you just wake up?" I asked him as I walked out of my room.

"Yeah like 10 minutes ago did you?" He questioned as Ethan tried taking the phone away.

"Yeah, but I woke up like 20 minutes ago. My mom woke me up because I got the package from Ethan." I stated as I opened the fridge and spotted some leftover food my mom left for me before she went to work.

"Ethan doesn't stop talking about you. Hailey this, Hailey that. That kid annoys me ugh." Grayson rolled his eyes as he made movements with his hands as if someone were talking.

"Alright Grayson I uh think Ethan's wants his phone back." I let out a laugh as I heard Ethan screaming Grayson's name through out the phone.

Grayson nodded and said bye to me before handing the phone back to Ethan and I was introduced to Ethan's face once again.

"Okay Hailey well I got to go with Grayson to the beach to fi- I mean we're going to go to the beach." Ethan said widening his eyes and then going back to his words smoothly. I raised an eyebrow, but I ignored it.

"Alright Ethan text you later thanks again bye." I waved to the camera.

"Bye Hailey and anytime." He smiled before hanging up.
